My guess is they know more than SnL does on the virus, but maybe I am wrong here.

All I did was suggest an option, fuckface.

Maybe you missed the part where the WHO said research shows that those that are asymptomatic are highly unlikely to transmit the virus.

They walked that back the following day. They simply don't know enough.

Or he balanced that against multiple studies that say the opposite.

I read the walk back, it definitely sounded more like “oh crap, I shouldn’t have said that because politically it would be bad”.

Here’s the walk back

This is what makes the numbers hard to follow or believe sometimes.

This video if from Illinois.

I also know this to be true as my grandpa’s wife died in a nursing home during the main outbreak  she had late term dementia and was told she had days maybe weeks to live.

A few COVID cases show up in her nursing home and she does die about a week later.

2 days before she died she was tested and was negative for COVID.  She was not tested again, even post-mortem.

Because she was coughing a little in her last couple hours, she was labeled as a COVID-19 death on her death certificate.

My wife had COVID back in April, as I completely explained daily on this thread. She fully recovered.

She had to have an outpatient procedure at the hospital 3 weeks ago since hospitals opened up for “elective surgery”.

Their protocol makes them test every patient coming in for COVID.

So, even though she was tested twice back in April (she had to be tested again to go back to work as she works with hospice patients), they tested her again and an antibody test.

She told them it was pointless as she knows she already had it.

Her doctor is a great guy and here’s what he told her.

He said that unfortunately she would go down in the statistics as another positive case since the antibody test would come back positive.

And here’s the kicker...if something bad happened while she was under anesthesia during the surgery and she died...

She would be listed as a COVID-19 death since she was a positive case.

My wife told him that was BS and he said “yup, but it’s the current rules”

So if you wonder why I am a little skeptic it’s because my family has actually gone through it AND seen how hospitals/hospices are treating/told to treat cases and deaths right now.

So my wife was counted three times now as a COVID case as she had another outpatient procedure this past Monday.

Ok, and a girl I know just went on vacation to Myrtle Beach and stayed in a hotel room with 4 other people. Three of them had Covid symptoms when they got home. One got tested and was positive. The others didn't. So (at least) three of them had it and only one was counted.

Yeah, well, my wife did the same thing and the same situation but the doctor said she wouldn’t be counted in either situation as a positive test!

So let’s see which anecdotal story people choose to believe!

To be honest I don’t give two shits if people believe me. Just relaying truthful information. People can choose to believe me or not, doesn’t change anything on my end.

You are 100% right. My mom, dad, sister, 2 of my kids, and probably myself all had the virus. Only my wife got tested.

My story was less about the cases and more about the death reporting.

But you aren’t wrong, studies have shown that with regards to infections/cases you can take the reported cases and multiply it by 30-40 times.

So in the US we are at almost 3.5 million cases, if those studies are right we have really had 100-120 million cases. This would make the death rate REALLY low since the rate is deaths/infections.

I should have been more clear. When I said I question the numbers, in total cases I believe it to be MUCH higher than 3.5 million for reasons like you said and my family, plus the multiple studies that say so.

I also believe the deaths are lower than stated since pretty much every(at least most) death right now in a hospital or nursing home gets put down as a COVID death.

Just wanted to share some good news. My friends dad went into the Hospital July 4 and was released today. He’s in his mid 70s so it’s great that he beat it.

California shutting down all bars and restaurants (not sure if delivery/takeout is allowed, I assume so?) throughout the state. 38 counties (80% of the population affected) will see additional closures likes gyms, churches, casinos, zoos, etc.

I just don't see what this accomplishes. Four months ago, a fraction of the people were infected that are now. I don't know how long you can keep things closed without continuing to screw a ton of people. If you reopen things again there in 6 weeks, why would it play out any differently than it is now?

I agree. Can't just keep opening and closing the economy. Sadly, we are led by a moron who has convinced enough of this country that covid isnt a big deal and will just go away one day like magic. Not sure what needs to happen to open peoples eyes.
