My university is planning for all classes to be remote in the fall. Only essential hands-on activities (e.g. labs) will be allowed to be held on-campus and will be limited to no more than 10 students/room. This certainly may change, but this is what we were instructed to assume for fall semester room-booking purposes.

They giving you 1/2 price on tuition then?

With this scenario... no school lunch time.  Pack lunches all morning for the kids that need them, send them home with the packed lunches.

Save the schools some money.  There isnt one school cafeteria in the country that makes money.  Most school bleed $3000-$4000 a month from school cafeterias.

Spend a lot more money going 5 days a week over 4. Kids will have breakfast and lunch at school despite any changes.

Half days......kids are out by noon.  Go home and spend the rest of the day with blended learning

Better, 1/2 go to the school on Monday & Wednesday, the other half Tuesday and Thursday, work from home the other days.

I agree with this. Not just the governor, but everyone else claiming a vaccine is needed. A good treatment will go a long way. There's so much we don't have vaccines against, but treatments have helped tons.

When most people finally realize that the ultimate death rate is less than 0.5% and we have some good treatment options for those who do contract the virus and need care, most things will return to normal.  Getting past the media hype may now be the biggest hurdle.

When most people finally realize that the ultimate death rate is less than 0.5% and we have some good treatment options for those who do contract the virus and need care, most things will return to normal.  Getting past the media hype may now be the biggest hurdle.

 

It might even be lower then that. Maybe .09-.20. It’s also something like 98% of deaths are above 50 and 91% above 60. 

So the dumbass mayor of NY instructed cops to arrest anyone at funerals....called out the Jews.

There is no way a cop would go into a funeral and try to arrest someone.  You know they wont adhere to orders and could you imagine seeing a cop taze or baton someone at a funeral?

You are stuck in the 1980s or something where people had one source for news. Most people use the millions of avenues available to get news from sources they already agree with. The media is not some conspiracy monolith with one message that is liberal. It is thousands of outlets, all easily accessable.  Honestly the only people who buy into this Big Bad Media conspiracy are political extremists who spend their entire days devouring criticism of news reported from the opposite perspective. 

The only victim of the Big Bad Media on here seems to be you.

Read up on the community in question.  Why they are allowed a pass on restrictions everyone else is affected by is unknown?  You know, a lot of Jews are bothered by the Hasidic Jewish sect.  Just because they are Jewish doesn't mean they are above criticism.  Be glad you weren't born into it.

It has, quite literally, already been shown to have used flawed methods, not to speak of the statistical errors.

Unfortunately, confirmation bias is always going to cause people to gulp this down like a third-world hooker, because these two people are apparently doctors.

I wasn't agreeing with Spock's take, being that close together in a city full of the disease is dumb. I was pointing out that states (not necessarily NY) are releasing people from prison for much worse things, which is dumb AF. The only thing I saw people upset with the mayor is they made him sound racist for singling out Jews. I don't really agree with that take, but he had to apologize anyway.

Because apples to oranges comparisons are the best way to make a point!!!!

I mean, releasing SEX OFFENDERS of all things is utterly stupid as fuck and deserves to be called out, regardless of whether they were going to be paroled at some point this year or not, but there's no comparison in any way, shape or form to DeBlasio trying to stop large numbers of a particular group from doing what they want regardless of rules, orders or whatever.
