I had just moved back to Chicago from Raleigh. I will never forget that. I was so pissed I was living in it instead of North Carolina lol.

Gut, -60 wind chill seems accurate. There was a day or 2 where it was definitely worse than the last 2 days for me.

Not sure why this is at the top but in Nashville this weekend we are  being told to expect 14-18”. If that happens this city might as well close everything for the week.

I tried to add a screenshot but it wasn’t working. But this weekend there’s supposed to be a huge snowstorm and right now they have it narrowly missing Ohio. But the states all south and southwest of here could get a lot of snow, 12+ inches. If it shifts north it could be a mess for us.

Calling for 12-20” now in Nashville. I found the one Home Depot within 50 miles that had shovels and bought one today. Need to be able to make a path for the dog.

That plastic shovel is guaranteed to break in what I'm guess is a heavy, wet snow....good luck!

I got a nicer one but if it can make it 10’ from the front door to where my dog likes to pee I’ll consider it worth it

Not shoveling 6 inches at a time….scooping up 15 inches of snow and tossing is dumb and dangerous.

Storm keeps shifting North. I’m praying we get the snow and not the ice. Right now the line looks about 50 miles south of us. If it shifts more north we’re looking at a week without power probably. My wife is supposed to have surgery on Friday next week so hopefully that can still happen.

I'm still holding out hope that the modeling for this is spookier than it will actually be.

I also hope that nobody loses power!

Went from 1 inch possibly on Saturday to 6-10 inches between Saturday and Sunday. Sooooo happy it shifted north.

No shit. In north central Ohio, I'm pretty sure that, as of a couple days ago, we weren't supposed to get much at all. Right now, I did the math off the Weather Channel app and from Saturday night through Sunday, we're in this range between 7-14 inches. That could be interesting!

Stay warm friends!

We've weirdly have had the mildest winter in history here....so far.

Also historiclly low levels of snow in the mountains, which sucks.

I don't think many people in Ohio will be out and about Sunday/Monday. But I know many ER people (and other departments) are already packing their bags , planning on spending a few days at the hospital to keep it running. I'm seriously considering doing the same thing. My own work will be drastically cut back, but there are a million things I can do to make myself useful. If you're the praying type, please make room in your prayers for the actual first responders, hospital workers, road crews and so on.

I work tonight and then miraculously am off until Tuesday. I couldn’t have dodged it any better. I’m still thinking of offering to come in sometime Saturday or Sunday. My drive there is pretty quick and simple. There are people scheduled this weekend that live 30-45 minutes away on a normal day

Models are shifting it south again. Fingers crossed because I will take the snow to avoid 2” of ice

As of right now, this is what my area is expecting:

And I was just told that the available space/bed capacity is now full. So I won't be going in to work this weekend.

Looking like my area of southern Ohio will be around 14 inches…with some ice mixed in and -5 feels like temps to follow

Northwest corner.  Anywhere from 5" - 12" but we will probably be on the lower end.  My daughter lives in Knoxville.  She said if/when there is snow and ice, the whole city turns to idiots, because no one knows how to navigate this stuff.
