sounds like NC is safely Harris' at this point. If that happens Trump loses. I stand by my original map and flipping NC to her flips my numbers, she wins.

posted by geeblockThe Walmart by my house has surprisingly good beef and even good briskets at times. I would never buy produce outside of maybe potatoes or corn if it’s fresh in the summer. I did really want to buy this 70in Tv they had for like 300$ the other day and I don’t even need a tv. When people say cheap stuff at Walmart this is what I think of. That tv probably will last 4-5 years and you would easily have your moneys worth lol
My dude and I go halfsies on a cow every year. We would never eat that much beef on our own, so we give some cuts and ground beef to family or friends we know that have kids. We also do the same with pork.
We also frequent farmers markets a lot for some fruit/veggie staples. Also there are some Amish roadside stands that are a shortish drive away where we can pick up whatever else we want. Living in our area has its uses lol!
I do buy poultry from stores, though. I get my eggs from a cousin.
I've had my TV for about 10 years now. I don't really watch too much tv. Mainly football season. But with my working at a hospital and weird hours, I usually just watch highlights on my phone now.

posted by CenterBHSFanAs somebody who had been in the work force and grew up pre-NAFTA, I can truthfully say that prices were not skyrocketed. I think that is a fear tactic used to justify NAFTA. I know that Ptown will come and say that this expert or that says differently, but you have to be critical of the politics in play at that time. Experts and published papers have a story to tell which doesn't always give the full picture.
I would love to see industry brought back to the country. And guess what? Owners of big industry made a bunch of money pre-NAFTA too. Not only that, but we saw a bigger middle class, healthier children and more homes with a parent who didn't have to work and be able to raise their children instead of relying on daycare.
I have no problems with solar power, either, as long as it doesn't cut too much into places like Forrest or small farms.
I also have no fear of nuclear power. Caution and safety going forward with that is a good thing. But fear shouldn't be a deterrent imo.
I'd really like to know why Dems are willing cheerleaders for the exploitation of human beings. AKA "cheap labor". Because exploitation is exactly what it is.
I'm all for whatever works and can be built and managed here. There is a podcast I like called Decouple that kinda focuses on the nuclear power generation sector, mainly in Canada but also focuses global power generation developments. We used to do all our solar project hear until we allowed a bunch of Chinese grad students into our MIT programs and all the Polysicilon generation intellectual property made it to the CCP and now it's one of their largest exports, after years of flooding our market with underpriced material and driving all our manufacturing and innovation out of business.
Wind doesn't work, living with 3 giant windfarms within 1 hour of me and knowing that they will be locked out for 36 hours because there is a WINDSTORM coming tomorrow and the WINDFARM can't take the high WINDS.
And to your other point, I agree, I wish there was a little Obama to Trump. Obama was a great statesman. Horrible legislator, possibly evil person, but a great speaker.
i said all that as someone who voted for Trump for the first time in the 2020 election. I'm politically agnostic, keep your regulations out of my life (within reason) and i'll be happy. If Thomas Massie, Mike Lee, or Rand Paul ever ran for national office that would be something that would motivate me to activism. Otherwise, I try to vote for the lesser of 2 evils which is sad but with guys like Mitt Romney being on past tickets there isn't a better way to explain my past votes than just that.
do we value the endorsements? I do, and as I see it, Vivek, RFK Jr, and Elon are all people who I personally respect as people who think critically and innovate. The fact that they are in the ear of Trump and endorse him is what pushed me over the edge to support him. Whether or not he actually does any innovating in the office will be seen, but i at least get a chance at change from that side. Kamala, as far as I can tell, has no endorsements besides singers, actors, giant tech CEO's, and establishment bureaucrats and that tells me all I need to know.
I'm trying to change the direction of our country, less wars, more building industries, less service industries. I want us to build things again, not just generate numbers on a cloud server that we then tell people are equivalent to a dollar amount.
Perhaps it's because of the industry I work in but when you see the results of outsourcing what used to be 100% USA made materials to China, Georgia (the country), Ukraine, etc. it's sad and alarming. that only about 4 countries can supply materials for me and due to regulations (Obama, Clinton enacted, but admittedly not overturned by Bush or Trump) we can't make enough in the USA to keep the industry going. I should note that I'm not even working on supercritical infrastructure stuff, like nuclear plants or defense materials, those industries are impacted way more severely than mine and that should scare all of us.
So yeah, if Trump does 4 more years of what we had, then I got "got" too bad. But at least I have a reason to believe he may take the country where I want it to go. I know Kamala isn't . I totally understand Winston and Kizer have clearly had a different life experience and they don't agree. But I hope they actually like Kamala and the direction she's saying we'll go under her administration and aren't just voting because it's socially unpopular to tell your friends and family that you're voting for Trump. I know I've had cousins, siblings, in-laws say shit to me about my Trump/Vance signs, and it would've been easier to say nothing, easier still to just support their candidate, but I won't .

posted by CenterBHSFanI just listened to Michelle Obama's speech. In this speech she is scolding men for not wanting to vote for Kamala, adding in the abortion issue.
This woman.
It was HER damn husband who made all those promises during his campaign to start working to codify Roe v Wade on day one; and when he won that election he immediately said it wasn't his priority.
She goes on to scold 3rd party voters, again assuming that they are all men. I wrote in my choice and I'm not a man. Fucking presumptuous bullshit.
Did anybody working for Kamala's campaign learn a lesson from the backlash that came after Barack Obama's talking down to people?!
The absolute tone deafness of it all.
yeah but if you read the full wikileaks document, you'll know why her and Barack are pushing the way they are pushing for this. Citigroup is bracing for a bad year and need to make sure their puppets are in the right spots.

Miami is in a no win spot. wild card at best this year, but only because the AFC divisions are top heavy (like aside from the North, there is only 1 good team per division) but next year we are cap poor, Tyreek, Tua and Chubb are 1/3 of our cap each with 2+ years left, and we are bad on both lines with a less than healthy QB that drives everything offensively.

I lived in PA long enough to know she'll win that one. with or without fuckery, is up to interpretation, but she'll win PA. I feel pretty good about this map.

Day is a worse version of John Cooper. The team is habitually at the top of the mountain and never can crest it. They lose every close game, they lose every big game, they are unprepared to deal with adversity. They haven't successfully negotiated a 2-minute drill in the entire time he's been at the helm. I don't know if he can manage a clock, because we haven't seen it done yet. It's coaching malpractice that a team with this level of resources cannot land high level recruits on the O-line, and can't develop the defensive recruits into pros. Bosa's aside, not a single front 7 defensive player has been an impact player in the NFL, and not a single defensive back has been impactful since Coombs left.
In short, fire Day. We have seen where this finish line is and he's not going to get any team there.

it's so hard and foolish to love this team. yet every year, i get sucked into believing. honestly this isn't worse than either of the 3-1 world series flops, but it feels more painful for some reason. To just faceplant so hard in the first series knowing this team is going to be different next year and we'll lose some of our bigger offensive threats sucks.

i'm planning to get to europe next time rammstein fires up. but this year nothing, zach bryan with the wife in OKC back in may. but that is it.

fighting over this anthem is what they want us to do. distracts us from the erosion of the values in our society, pilfering of tax dollars, loss of freedom of speech/movement/etc. the black national anthem is fine if it makes a swath of the population feel better about their stance in culture. obviously i wish we had a singular anthem to show that we are a singular people, but if black folks don't feel included in our national anthem i get it given the history there. if we changed it to another, modern anthem that all denominations like (seems impossible) that'd be ideal, but the story told in the Star Spangled Banner is perfect for the creation of this nation, it's hard for me to envision another song to capture the story of our nation better.

i can't follow what atlanta is doing. is penix too good? are they scared he'll show up cousins? or are they trying to shop heineke for a pick or something? seems strange to draft a guy at 9 overall, play him for 2 series and then sit him saying "we've seen enough" when you have a 3 year $150million contract ahead of him. at worse you're going to see him for 3 years might as well get him reps now when they don't matter, worst case he has to play this year and isn't overwhelmed. just seems odd, they also can't block anyone so i doubt it'll matter much who is behind center this year.

the nfc north looks like it's going to be a murderer's row in about 3 years, looks like it'll be a 3 horse race this year (sorry vikings) but if detroit keeps their core and coaching together, it's gonna be tough. jason vrable is looking like a great coach (marietta grad and HOF'er) love watching that happen to a guy that worked his ass off in school.
