Fox News host Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense.

I haven't watched the guy, and looked up his resume, and I am not sold on his qualifications to handle the single largest department in the federal government. 

I had to read it again as I thought it was for VA, not DOD. 

He was a Major with 2 bronze stars and has degrees from Princeton and Harvard. Not a bad resume.

Last time around he listened to too many insiders and establishment types --- basically had to since he was a complete outsider.  Now that that is out of the way; he can go with the right people, hopefully, right out of the gate now.

The Dems don't have a new narrative. They are already enacting full-on Trump Resistance!

They don't have any economic policy, or Kamala would have won. Kamala's best policy was to lure people, who couldn't yet afford to buy a house, into buying a house with "up to 25%" tax break incentive. And what would have happened to those people the first time they got their property taxes assessed? They would have been fucked.

Well, to be somewhat fair to Kamala, this rejection has been building up for years. I really don't think it was any one thing that flipped a switch for most people, but rather an ongoing accumulation of fuckery. I just think that people were fed up and repulsed by a lot of things until they used Trump as a blunt force weapon to fight back. Again.

I'm telling ya, the Dems better get off their high horse or the lessons will keep coming hard for years to come. JD Vance is starting to grow on people and if he plays his part well, people will vote for him over the likes of Gavin Newsome. 

That's another thing - Dems would do well to avoid California Democrats for a while. People don't like that shit.

A couple of unrelated things.

1. Anyone who has participated in the election process knows that significant cheating is all but impossible.

2. Someone on one of the Sunday morning shows (wish I remember who) suggested that we would be better served basing our votes on the relative integrity of the candidates rather than issues, even important ones. I tend to agree.

In California they are not even allowed to ask for IDs so I do think people cheat

I like Reddit too and don’t go searching out what would frustrate me. But those subreddits I mentioned are typically entertaining and rarely get political. But today it’s been endless posts of the electoral map with the subject line like “what have we done!” 

Even the Ohio subreddit is everyone being depressed. 

The Columbus and Ohio subreddit are ran by democrats in fact I would venture to say 90% of the moderators on subreddits especially the big one are all democrats. The last month the front page would always have 2-3 ridiculous Trump stories.

The Democrat party needs to go with Shapiro and people like him if they keep giving people like Newsome control they will continue to struggle
