JACOB'S LADDER IS A 9 AT MINIMUM YOU CHARLATAN!!!!!!
*ahem* got a bit triggered there...
I've noticed that because I'm, on one hand, watching a lot of gangster/mafia movies (or re-watching in a lot of cases) and, on the other, watching a lot of cheap horror films on those 8-to-20 movie collection packs, the quality of what I watch changes wildly on a daily basis. Sunday night, it was The Godfather (10/10, no explanation needed). Last night, it was Descendant, which was a really dull murder mystery (of sorts, since there was no actual suspense with whodunit) with an Edgar Allen Poe theme.
posted by friendfromlowryWatched the newest Purge movie, whatever it was called.
trash/10.
The mini-series on USA right now is pretty good.
I agree, all of the Purge movies have gone downhill since the first one.
The first one was legitimately a 7 or 8/10, actually enjoyed the premise and the movie. By the time they got to the most recent (The First Purge) they were literally sitting at a 0 or 1/10.
The new series isn't quite as bad as the last movie but it is still kind of bad.

I didn't even finish The First Purge. I wish I hadn't finished Election Year. I think i'll finally pass on whatever shit they release next.
The series is so fucking slow. I'm too lazy to look up how many episodes there have been so far - 7 maybe? But (Spoiler for anyone who hasn't watched this week yet) Rick/Jenna just now escaped that house which turned out to be a bunch of nothing, and it took about 2-3 episodes for Miguel to find his sister and do what we all knew he would and overpower that idiot junkie. It took until this week to get any idea of who Joe is and what his deal is.
Currently watching Karate Kid II. Still awesome
Halloween - 7/10. I really liked it, minus one dumb character.

Which one?
7/10 for the new Halloween is about right. (Spoiler alert-not really pertaining to the movie) but I didn't like the fact they omitted everything that happened after the original (claimed Michael had only killed 5 victims).

About the exact same comment...7/10 and didn't like the fact that they ignored everything after the original movie.

The new doctor.
Halloween 8/10
BlacKKKlansman 8/10
A Star is Born....7
Had 9-10 potential I thought.
Gaga a good actress ....Cooper I guess spent a year of singing training. Couldn’t believe how good he was.
Small foot. 6/10
It was a kid's movie and took obvious shots at the bible. That doesn't really bother me but it seemed unnecessary. It also had some obvious commie brainwashing that I wasn't a fan of.
Anyone plan on catching Bohemian Rhapsody?

As long as the reviews are good, yes.
Also anxious to see if The Mule is as good as it looks.
Also, Vice looks like it could be great.

absolutely--with music by Queen, it's a can't miss
First Man 9/10.
I loved it and thought it was a great intimate look at Neil Armstrong and his family. I enjoyed the close up shots and the very real feel of the space program. It wasn't shiny, it was gritty. The moon landing sequence was also pretty good.
I also plan on seeing Bohemian Rhapsody. It has been on my list ever since Rami Malek was cast as Freddie.
