Do you take naps?

I was thinking about naps yesterday for some reason. Are you much of a napper? I might take 3-4 a year, I'd guess. I assume that number probably increases as you get older, but I don't think I've hit prime napping age quite yet.

What's weird is that I can do stuff around the house all day on the weekend and be fine. If I go to a grandkid's soccer game and stand outside, or go shopping for an extended period of time (browsing, as my lady calls it) I'm taking a nap when I get home. It's about the only time I take one.

I nap if both my kids are down/accounted for, nothing is on I need to watch live, I have nothing else standing in my way. Its usually 20-30 min.

It's rare I take a real nap, but probably once a week or more, I'll have a 20-30 minute stretch where I'll lay down and close my eyes without actually falling all the way asleep.

if i have anything i could/should be doing, the slight bit of anxiety from that pending task makes napping virtually impossible.

as such, i rarely nap.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 12 years ago. Before using a cpap (which I use every night), I was always trying to grab a chance to take a nap. Since then, I have probably taken about two naps.

I have sleep apnea but I do occasionally nap. Nowhere near as much though.

On a side note, when one of my grandkid's was younger he thought my job/career was taking naps.

Working night shift, my sleep schedule is fucked and probably taking years off my life. I only sleep 3-5 hours at any given time, whether the day before working that night, or the day after, or on nights where I don't work at all.

If I'm at home instead of work, I'll usually sleep a few hours at night and be wide awake by 0430. I'll end up laying back down for another few hours later that afternoon.

Just about every day.  Working 8 to 10 hours every night 5/6/7 days a week combined with classes at inconvenient times Mon thru Thurs has done wonders for my sleep schedule. Some days I sleep in shifts and others don't get to bed until mid afternoon.

It doesn't matter if my nap is 30 minutes, or 3 hours. I ALWAYS wake up sluggish from a nap.

A handful of 20 minute naps a year. Usually on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Never planned, always spontaneous.
