The play-in game is dumb.
Is it just a one-time thing because it's a shorter season and it's a shorter season due to how late last year's season ran due to the COVID pause? If that's the case, I can at least see the reasoning, even if I think it's kind of weird and stupid, like MLB's one-game wild card round. But if it's something they're thinking about implementing going forward, yeah. Dumb as fuck.
Pretty sure it’s here to stay. I don’t inherently hate it, because tanking is worse and that curbed some otherwise would be tanking teams.
But it needs some tweaks. I’d go something more like:
- 9/10 play, loser out. Winner plays 8
- 9/10 winner vs 8. If 8 wins, plays 7. If 9/10 winner wins, play again for advancement.
- Same as above for next games.

Good couple games tonight. It sucks Chris Paul got hurt the first game of the playoffs. Phoenix doesn’t stand a chance without him.
Clippers working on a first round exit.
Trae Young has been very entertaining.
Booker giving no shits about the Lakers lol...has 22 with a minute left in the first quarter
If Lakers don’t get it going it’s going to be one of those 93-59 games
AD getting hurt in Game 4 really sucked the life out of what could’ve/would’ve been an awesome Finals.

Pass.
I’m excited for some new teams/talent. If the Clippers lose Friday night then even better. First time in about a decade that Lebron or Steph Curry won’t be in the finals.
Bye Lebron.

Yeah, but unfortunately (healthy) Lakers and Milwaukee are the only 2 teams who could’ve prevented Brooklyn from a boring playoffs, IMO. Let’s go Milwaukee!

That makes sense. I would be in favor of that. I did not mind it as it gave teams incentives to keep playing. I thought it was funny the moment Lebron realized the Lakers were going to be in it, he hated it.
These playoffs have been great. I love all of the new blood taking over. Luka and Jokic are awesome to watch. I very much enjoyed Trae Young pulling a Reggie Miller in NY. The Nets/ Bucks series is probably going to be epic.
Yeah they’ve been pretty enjoyable so far and I’m looking forward to seeing if Trey can keep it going against Philadelphia.
It’s hard to imagine Brooklyn not winning it but whatever. I don’t hate them (yet)
Wonder how long it will take Spike Lee to start showing up at Nets games? He used to be all about Brooklyn and he left the last Knicks/Hawks game with about 3 minutes left.
I don’t usually support stars leaving teams, but Doncic should if they can’t get him some reliable help. Porzingis has been a disaster. Can’t believe he’s going to be paid +30 million next year.
Another fun fact for you Ironman courtesy of Twitter. When Jokic was picked 41st back in 2014, ESPN was actually at commercial break. They showed his name as the selection across the bottom ticker during a Taco Bell commercial. Tonight he won the MVP award.
Another fun fact Ironman: the Jazz took game one of what should be a very, very good series tonight and the Mailman was in attendance! The Stifle Tower (perhaps my favorite nickname in sports) with a huge rejection at the end.
Also, you don’t miss the fan atmosphere until you go a year plus without it.
Durant had a pretty good game it looks
Kawhi out game 5 (knee). Paul out for awhile (Covid protocols). At least Suns have like a week off, but I'd still anticipate missing the first 3 games of the WCF.
