I'm not justifying it, just pointing out if the city and state officials were doing their jobs, it wouldn't have happened.

I would agree there, but just add it did need to be coordination with the local forces or at least give them a heads up. The state and locals were totally in the dark. Not cool.

Also, if we are going to have feds come in, they, like everyone else, need to have proper credentials displayed and known to people. Just dudes in full tac gear with police across their chest is shady as shit.

I know I would be pissed if federal dudes like that just rolled up to my area and just started arresting people.

They said they don’t have names across their chest because Antifa were looking for their names, and finding more info on them—where they lived, family members, etc.

Who knows if that’s true or not, but that was given as the reason why they removed names from the uniforms

The problem some of you have is that you cant prove me wrong.  Antifa has money backers, they are coordinated and controlled by others.

I will also go out and say the black op feeds are scooping these guys up because if they informed the local officials, they would tell the agitators that they were coming

Ohhhh look at you trying to deflect and shifting the argument. Hey man, you said they were being paid. We are just asking you to cite it.

K. They’re lucky they don’t get their shit kicked every day. They’re fucking losers who deserve everything they get. Don’t mess with federal buildings and you won’t get federal police. Pretty simple.

Lol so you make a claim, then say “prove me wrong, you can’t” as your argument for why it’s true?

If that’s how this works, I banged 10 Victoria secret models last month. Prove me wrong bro

Hey, I'm not defending the protestors, just the process for using federal force. These guys deserved to be rounded up, I agree, but it should be in coordination with locals and everyone should be IDed from their office and who they are with.

So everyone all up in arms that Trump was nabbing people up on the streets of Portland in some covert way.

Now he is announcing that he is going to clean up Chicago.  I bet the left will outrage about that.

One of the only principled politicians we have left at the federal level.

This is how a peaceful protest gets turned violent.

Does everyone see the irony of a police escort for a "defund the police" march?

Also, the frickin' statue has more protective gear on then some of the cops.

BLM?  All they need to do was go 10 blocks south and hit the epicenter of where black lives don't seem to mean a thing.

Yup, the BLM organization and Marxism have nothing to do with each other...change the color from red to black and the logo is the exact same.

Not sure they were or are trying to signal to the world that "Hey, come join our socialist movement".  Its likely pure laziness to actually come up with a thought or idea on their own.  Just goes to show you that their movement doesnt mean that much to them if they arent willing to have the desire to come up with their own logo.

The police were defunded in 2008 and crime skyrocketed. Police have millions of interactions with people daily and almost all are without incidents. I think improvements can be made like eliminating no knock warrants, decriminalizing weed, and making police take classes yearly or every other year on the newest deescalation techniques.

I think we need to take justice reform further by improving the prison system and probation system. There are so many young people who get caught in the system because of probation that they keep in and out their whole lives for minor crimes.

We also need more police and community interactions especially in minority neighborhoods. How many children are taught to fear the police and not to “snitch”. Instead lets have more community policing where children get to know the officers on their streets and develop relationships so they are not afraid and willing to report crimes to the police.

Also if we wanna get rid of police unions I’m all for it but let’s also look at other state funded worker unions like teacher unions as well.

Your second sentence in the first paragraph is spot on.  There are 10,500,000 arrests in a year; let's say 50 of them go sideways and someone dies or is injured and perhaps it should not have happened.  That is still a success rate of 99.9995%.  To me, that is a stellar record given the risky circumstances of so many arrests.  As a whole, society should be willing to accept such a success rate in return for safety, and law and order.

EXACTLY.  99% of the people there want safety, and law and order --- and they should get it because they pay for it.  The mayor should either resign immediately or be removed from office via referendum for dereliction of duty and putting the safety and property of the citizens at risk.
