I will be in the back of the line...just want to see how the front of the line handles it

That is without saying.

They will use it on the important people first.

Or...you may be first if they want to use you as a test study....

Has anyone done any indoor dining since the ban in Ohio was lifted? We've dined inside once, outside 3 or 4 times, and sat outside for just a beer a couple times.

I will say, it's not easy to understand soft-spoken servers when they're wearing a mask.

Yes.  The employees can’t stand the masks; I don’t blame them.  They don’t need one to serve me.

We've received notices from a couple of casinos we frequent that they will be reopening this Friday 6/5 (Mountaineer/Newell, WV) and Tuesday 6/9 (The Meadows/Washington, PA). Will be interesting to see how they handle this.

Mountaineer will supposedly be testing, having limited hours (10am-2am) and only allow 50% occupancy. Meanwhile, The Meadows continues to advertise outdoor concerts at their pavilion as soon as 2.5-3 weeks away. We like to gamble but I have no intention of returning for a while. I don't even plan on returning to my office until at least 6/15, taking a "wait and see" approach as to whether we get spikes due to things reopening.

I figured casinos wouldn't be opening for a while and have heard Ohio casinos are probably way off because of Dewine hating them.

Not sure exactly what this is from, but it looks like an early covid related incident. I got a good laugh from it.

The funniest part is the two cops that start to give chase, take about 5 steps and are just like "awwww, fuck it".

Back home in Morgan County, Ohio! First-ever brewery there...well, in modern times.

Old Bridge!  I'm excited to try it out.

I know......iTS FrOm tHE bREtbaRtZ.  But the stats are pretty telling.  90% of national Covid deaths come from 10% of US counties?

70% of Ohio deaths are nursing homes.

So why are we shut down again?

I live in a VERY small town and they are dying in bunches at the local nursing home. My girlfriend is FB friends with a nurse that works there and she's posting the daily toll. It was running at a 4-6 people per day clip.

There is no reason most things shouldn’t be open with stipulations.

I mentioned, in an earlier post, about casinos re-opening in WV/PA. Well, Mountaineer re-opened at 10am this morning and I saw pics of the line outside waiting to get in. Completely wrapped around the building. Those people are never going to get in by 2am (when they close). Plus, some people like to play together at the same machine, which is not allowed, and there's only 50% capacity. Looks like a zoo.

Vegas apparently had a very good opening.  LOL, they used to say Vegas was recession proof!  What remains to be seen is how long this lasts - lot of gamblers who haven't been able to get their fix for months.  And money is still an issue for a lot of people, as well as getting on an airplane and traveling.

Because the stats tell us that the precautions likely worked to some degree.

The end is coming!!

My gf just got the notice her office is opening back up June 22nd. Social distancing measure and all that so half of the staff works two days, the other half the other 2 days. Fridays are flexible.

I'm not ready at this moment, but I'm looking forward to not working from home. Very over it.

From the pics I saw of the lines at Mountaineer, either there are some hardcore gamblers who have been saving for this or it didn't hit people in the pockets as much as thought. That line is ridiculous.

I know I won't be going for a while because of a) still taking a "wait & see" as to whether there are spikes with the re-openings, b) no interest in waiting in lines, c) we like to go at "vampire hours" (after 2am and that's when the casino is closing) and d) my girlfriend and I play at the same slots, alternating spins, and the new casino rule is only one person per machine. So, for the people who like to play together, the casino just increased their odds even more by making couples split their money.

If the Meadows isn't as strict with their hours we will probably try there. Saw the Rivers will be open 24/7 on weekends and until 4am during the week but no real interest in going there. Right at that exit is where all of the George Floyd protesters were.

I'm really not looking forward to returning to my office. I'm going to make a pitch to be able to (at a minimum) work from home on Fridays.

Remains to be seen.  People with a problem will spend their last dime on gambling.  Also, a lot of your higher paid professionals continued working from home and didn't take much of a hit.  The market has recovered most of its losses, so people don't have to feel poor.  The unemployment hasn't hit home values yet.  And last but far from least, the stimulus checks paid your average line worker most, and in some cases more, of their wages - federally funded 2+ month vacation.  I think casino business will boom for a month or two and then fall off a cliff to Great Recession levels.

I firmly believe there will be a double-dip.  A recession was long overdue, and I don't think you can have a recession without actually having one.  And the longer term problem is the travel & retail sector will probably be slow to recover, while thousands of restaurants & retail shops are probably done for good.  Unemployment will improve, but I don't see how we're getting back anywhere close to @5% (which was, historically, considered a very healthy economy).
