I've said this before, so maybe it will make more sense now - you know it will offend people, and yet you choose to do it anyway....again, basically the definition of an asshole.

It depends on who is taking offense. If black people (doubtful) you're the asshole. If SJW/NPC (more likely), they're the assholes. And the racists.

Not if black people aren't, no. Actually, they're more than free to be idiots. Being offended on the behalf of people who aren't is bigotry due the the implication involved.

Ahhhhh.....the classic "you're not entitled to your feelings, so it's perfectly acceptable for me to ignore them".  LOL, it's their fault they're offended.

You're entitled to "feel" anything you want. I'm entitled not to give a fuck. And yes, if I hurt your feelings, that's 100% on you.

Okay but black people are offended by it. So don't do it.

Well, apparently PayPal has suspended a social media site called Gab.ai because the Pittsburgh shooter used it. And so far two hosting services have dropped them also, without giving any particular reason other than violation of TOS. This is after (or even though) they worked extensively with the DOJ and FBI to gather information. So now there are new calls for government to intervene with social media.

While I would prefer to lean libertarian on this issue, I'm starting to see the point that political ideology censorship has a huge role in this. After all, youtube didn't have this kind of ruckus when  a youtube creator shot people at youtube. Facebook didn't have issues when a person was violently tortured on its services. Twitter still hosts antifa and Hamas.

So there are certain preferences being displayed and they aren't necessarily superficial preferences. But I'm not sure government intervention is the answer.

I never suggested anyone do it, my issue is with the faux outrage.

If we stopped doing everything that offended people, but wasn’t actually racist or homophobic etc, then we should just walk around and not talk to anyone.

I am sorry, but just because someone is easily offended by something that is NOT racist, doesn’t mean you have to stop doing said thing. We are far too “PC” today and people are afraid to talk without offending someone.

Like i said, wearing black face as it has been historically obviously racist. Painting your face as Black Panther for Halloween...if that offends you then you need thicker skin.

Let's start our own movement! Raciphobia can be a thing really quickly. All it would take is a few Tumblr posts and a tweet or two.

A lot of people consider putting on black face to be racist, and it's frankly hard to argue otherwise.  Even if your intent is not to be racist, it doesn't make it any less offensive.

It's common courtesy.  You don't have to do it, and you know it's going to offend people and you do it anyway.  That's a complete jerk move.

So if someone is really good at makeup and can make a kids face look just like Black Panther in the whole suit, since the suit is mostly black, this would be racist?

you have to see how dumb that is.

Now, walking around in black face just to make fun of black people would obviously be racist, but doing it to dress like a superhero on Halloween is not racist, no matter how you do it (mask or makeup), and anyone that suggests otherwise is quite frankly a moron.

You still don't get it.

If you paint the black panther mask on a face, that's not blackface. That is a painting of the mask on the face. It's a painting of the panther, not black face, so its fine.

Again, it's not hard folks. Common sense. Don't paint a black face of a person on a white face. Simple.

This is actually what I am arguing but so many people want to say that painting on a black panther mask is the same as the historical black face and therefore racist.

Those people are plain stupid.

Pittsburgh mayor Bill Peduto was just on tv preaching how his idea and "sensible" people know that guns aren't needed. Not verbatim but that was the jist of it. It's exactly that kind of attitude that pushes people away. That the only sensible people are people that don't need or want guns.

If people wanted zealoutry Jerry Falwell would have been president many years ago. The regressives in this country do not or cannot understand this. Voters are now actively and figuratively backhanding democrats in the mouth at voting booths and they still persist in talking down to people. What a joke.

I'm OK with a nation without guns. But I get to go last.
