Funny how it was all the obstructionist Repubs, and now the shoe is on the other foot and Dems are doing the same thing.

Pelosi and Reid were far more toxic and did far more damage to "business as usual" than Obama ever did.  All Obama really did was use the IRS and DOJ to go after political opponents - community organizing is HARD on a national level.

That's politics. Put a D in charge and all the Rs do is obstruct; put an R in power and all the Ds do is obstruct. Because the only real goal is to make the guy in charge look ineffectual in order to trigger mid-term election wins.

I think you are glossing over how fucked up the 2013 shutdown was. It was the House Republicans that also refused to play ball and they were in charge of the House. We are still living with the ramifications with sequestrian.

Which republican(s) is the one responsible for the looming shutdown?  It shouldn't be difficult to pass a short term CR with the majority.

Is the freedom caucus? They seem to be the ones that hard to pin down. Also, do we know what Trump wants?

The way I remember it, Dems controlled the Senate but only one party was blamed by the "media" for failing to compromise.  And when Obama tried his Lucy routine with the football, Republicans called his bluff because, yeah, defense spending is out of control.

Ramifications of the seqeustration?!?  LMFAO, only inside the beltway for people getting checks from the industry.

Pretty much.  Although it seems to get worse and worse every election cycle.

Though I maintain Pelosi and Reid put the hammer down on that train....they believed in 2008 that the Repub party was dead and they would never have to deal with them again.  And we're seeing the consequences/payback of their very unilateral, very uncompromising approach to "leadership".  They are also two of the slimiest, mudslingers out there - usually the smears and dog whistling are reserved for someone a little lower on the foodchain.

Schumer and the other D douche bags own this shut down. Immigration reform has nothing to do with budgets. It’s a pretty weird hill to die on, and must be a calculated risk that this will help them in 2018.

How can hatred for one man be so great that a political party will shut the Govt down to try and hurt him?

You are not comparing apples to apples in 2013 we did not shut the govt down because of Illegal aliens.

Nor is it this time. Like it, hate it, or fall somewhere in the middle, the tax "reform" bill was the first significant legislative "win" by this administration. The Dems want to head off any momentum being built, so they choose a wedge-issue hill for someone to die on.

It’s 100% trying to win the base back for 2018. There is nothing in it the Dems disagree with. This is more “this is how you get Trump”.

Lets also try not to pretend that this is ALL THE DEMZ FAULT! The Repubs control the entire US Government.

This is nothing more than your typical "party over country" bullshit that we see on a regular basis. Both parties are to blame.

There aren’t 60 repubs? Please explain how this is the republicans fault? There is nothing in there that the Dems disagree with. They want something ADDED that has nothing to do with a budget.

Clearly they don't as the majority voted to keep the doors open, yet here we are.
