Grilled some 8 oz. Omaha Steaks filet mignons last night.  They were fantastic.

Starting to see this in the suburbs of Chicago. The grocers are getting less supply and limiting customers to 1 or 2 lbs (depending on the meat) of anything. They also are running out in early afternoons.

Last week, I stocked up with no troubles. Store had a "only 3 of each", but didn't specify size, so I just got three of the largest of whatever I wanted, so I'm good for another month or more. Went mid-morning, so if there is Laley's issue with running out early where I'm at, I didn't have to experience that, at least.

I went on Sunday morning and they had plenty, but the butcher said almost all they had was out, very little in the back as the deliveries had been only about 75% capacity since Friday.

He said they ran out at 3:30 Friday and Saturday and expected the same moving forward. Not really worried since I go to the store early. But limiting the amount I could get kinda sucked because I’ll have to go twice a week now if we want certain meals.

So far, so good here. I went yesterday, 3 hour total trip, but the meats were plentiful.

Wife and I went in w/some others and bought a cow. Butchered, packaged, delivered. Split 3 ways.

Have had beef tongue a couple times, didn't particularly care for it. Will not request.

Friends recommend Fligner's market in Lorain.  They butcher local farmers stuff.  Picked up 30# chicken breast this weekend for $2.79 a pound.  We have meat in small town IGAs close to us but it's like $5 a pound from Amish country. Decided to stock up and save some $$. Sam's club has been out of a lot of stuff for the last two weeks. Decided to go in on 1/2 a cow which will keep us good for the rest of the year..

I would never buy frozen.  Here is a link to a supplier in New England; you will have fresh, LIVE, lobsters the next day.  It is a quality product; I have enjoyed their lobster every time.
