The law in Ohio states you must have a front license plate on your car. My wife and I haven't had one on our cars for a while now. Anyone else out their flaunting the law?

Also, I just found this:

https://www.daytondailynews.com/news/state--regional-govt--politics/ohio-house-votes-longer-require-front-license-plate-vehicles/7F42dSHnbMRjcAr2bcm7JM/

Looks like the state is debating ending the law that's been on the books since 1908.

Bought my truck used in 2005 from a Columbus dealer and transferred the plates from my trade-in to the truck, which only had only had one license plate holder.  When I looked it up, the dealer had purchased from out of state.  Found out it was my responsibility to have a front plate holder installed, which I did.

If Ohio goes to one plate, expect the registration fees to increase, even though it will cost the state less.  Hey, the BMV registrars are still making money on driver license lamination, even though they haven't laminated anything for some years.

I'm going to form my own state one day.  Will probably make a killing.

Have them on both cars.  What is the argument agaisnt them?  Out of all issues, this is pretty much a non issue for me.

I just registered one car and got 2 plates.  Use one plate for each car.  Boom.

huh? if this is actually the reason it's a stupid one...it's the law, so yes, we have them on both of our vehicles.

Aunt witnessed a hit in run in Florida, but couldn't ID the auto since no front plate

I didn't say it was a good reason. But I'm not drilling holes in the front bumper of my new to accommodate a license plate.

Thats the strangest thing I’ve heard on here in a little while. And jmog just compared a movie that won 7 academy awards to a stupid movie about pro life people.

I wonder if unsolved hit and run cases are more prevalent in states without front plate laws? Since most likely happen at night I'm gonna guess no, but I'd be curious to see those numbers.

When I got the Fusion in '17, it didn't come with a front plate holder. The guy basically just said that if that became a problem, they'd attach one on. I thought the car looked better without that shit, so fuck that noise. Haven't been pulled over or had anyone say anything to me about it over the 1.5 years since, so no biggie, I guess.

We don't have front license plate in SC. I like it, and have never missed or wondered why they don't have a front one.  When I lived in Ohio most of my cars had front license plates except my older wrangler bc I never cared to do it and never was asked why I didn't have it.
