That's good news potentially, although I'm not sure how I feel about us being most similar to FUCKING FERRETS. Like, thanks for saving my life, dude, but did you have to degrade me like that in doing so!?!?!

First, lol.

Second, having met people, it doesn't surprise me.  Low attention spans.  Co-dependence that nearly requires a non-solitary life.  Would rather spend more time playing than working.  Sleeping a lot if they're allowed.

Sounds about right.

In Alabama, we are told to expect our apex in the next week.  If that holds, the number of hospitalizations required will not exceed available space.  Since that was the driver of the social distancing and stay at home requirements, it seems that it has achieved the goal of not overwhelming the hospitals.

As a nation, we appear to have peaked because NY has.  Should be a 4th straight day of decline, nationally.  And if things come down like they ramped up, in 2-3 weeks we should maybe be under 2000 new cases per day nationally.

Received a bit of good news from a college friend who I stay somewhat close to.

That's interesting.  So it sounds like they skipped/moved quickly past the early/mid stages of human testing like I was questioning.  Even my timing was spot on!

2-3 days to wipe out the virus is pretty impressive.  Which I guess he says treatment, not vaccine.  Fine by me, that's way better than rushing a vaccine if they can give you a powerful antiviral if you contract it.

I don't know anything about this particular situation, but it made me think of a question I've had for a long time.  Why is it so important for D1 schools to have as big an athletic department as it can afford.

Sometimes it's not what they can afford, sometimes it's forced by conferences to carry a certain amount OR certain sports. NCAA does force schools to carry a specific amount of sports, but they can choose what they want.

The University can afford to keep men's soccer, they just choose not to. In my opinion, this is a move that's done for another move -- Big 12?

That would be tremendous.

Yeah, it's not a vaccine, but it's a treatment for anyone who is already infected.

Dude, that's the state department that issued the warning.  You know, some people call the state department the "Deep State" department.  The Deep State conspiracy crowd has been warning us for three years to not trust anything from US intelligence nor the Deep State.  So how are we to believe this?

Deep staters don’t like to die.

Shit is getting strange out there

”Hillsboro County Florida enacted a curfew from 9 p.m. till 5 a.m. was specifically asked if people would be allowed to walk their dogs. said anybody who was out walking their dog during curfew would be ticketed and or arrested. Because walking your dog was non-essential.”

They really don’t want to go down that path.

Good luck enforcing that on "Florida Man".

And 29 of the 30 cops on duty will roll their eyes and say "OK Sarge", the other one will seek out a violator.

Athletic Departments are a business. I would guess Cincinnati only see profits from Men’s Basketball and football. They lost their share of March Madness money and if there’s no fans for football it will be the first of many sports cut.

If the season is going to be canceled, I wonder how many athletes will sit out a year?  I'm not sure how it would work out, because a 5th year just to use up your last season of eligibility is a big time financial choice.  But maybe most athletes are needing 5+ years to graduate, anyway.

On the other hand, a year of college spent social distancing would really suck.

Curfews are about the dumbest fucking idea to deal with this. Tell people they'll be arrested if they're out past 8 or 9pm, and everyone is going to be out getting their shit done before the curfew kicks in, likely being around more people in the process. Consolidating the number of hours for outdoor activity, and banning fucking dog walks after 9pm is the dumbest shit I've seen so far.

Whoever is responsible for implementing this needs bags of dog shit flung on his/her lawn nightly.
