Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. I don’t think his story is 100% accurate. But I’ll wait to hear all the facts before making factual statements on what happened. You’re running with false rumors because it’s what you want to believe. Just admit it. 

I didn’t say anything about what BHS said (which was reported by ABC, sorry journalists continue to suck). Just was pointing out the guy is a douche who made up a racial/ political attack. I will admit I’m wrong when they arrest a white Trump supporter. Until then, his story is garbage (which there are facts to support). The police wouldn’t even give a shit if it were you or me claiming this.

And I agree with automatik, stories like this are why I hate twitter. No one, including myself, should be giving a shit about this guy.

That’s also just one index. And an index is just a broad range picture of the market. Technically, depending on what gblock holds, he could be doing significantly better in his portfolio during those last three years of Obama versus first couple years of trump. 

For example, if he holds a lot of international, he’s not happy these last few years. 

Pointing out one fact about one index is also pointing out fact to fit YOUR belief. 

Geeblock said NO ONE ON THIS SITE has made more money because Trump vs Obama. 

Since the DJIA is the most used index and closely would mimic any broad range diverse holdings (various mutual funds, etc) that would be the logical index to use. 

He has been proven wrong since he said NO ONE he just didn’t say “me”.

The only people who really care about this are the extreme libs who want so desperately for the attackers to be white MAGA people. And those on the other side who want so desperately for this to be made up by the guy to make people hate MAGA people. That’s it

I can't be the only one who was completely fucked the last part of 2018. My 401k is currently at January 2018 levels. 

No, end of 2018 was bad, I was using average over the 2 years in office. Guarantee your 401k is much better than January 2017.

I mean, what g block said was very dumb. But you using one index to say you’re guaranteed to make money since 2017 is just wrong and dumb. Plenty of people have lost money in their portfolios since January 2017. Their portfolios were not very diversified, yes. But it’s not 100% you’re making money in the market the last two years.

My tax burden is lower and my 401k and IRA are both much higher now than in 2016. I have made many more “dollars” since Trump took office. I am also not rich.

 

Unless you have no job and have no money at all in the stock market, you have made money because Trump is in office. You may not want to admit it, but facts don’t care about your feelings.

what i actually said was that the money made wasn't drastically more than the arc that it had been on since 2009.  almost every graph sits at about a 45 degree angle since 2009. but man that is an accurate representation of the internet.

Actually, what you said was that nobody has made more than they would have with the existing arc.  However drastic had nothing to do with your prior statement.

From the beginning i was skeptical of this for a few reasons.  The long time it took him to report it to police. The fact that he called his agent before the police.  The fact that when the police showed up he still had the noose around his neck and the fact that after this beating and being doused with bleach, he picked up his sandwhich and ate it.  The police found the empty subway wrapper at his house.  It never added up for me

How can you honestly say this in the current day-in-age?  If this guy turns out to have lied, it will be made readily available.  Will CNN, MSNBC or the NYT run it?  Maybe not.  But the dozens of sites that align with your political beliefs will wallpaper themselves with it.  You act as though we live in 1984 with one channel.  The only people who are victims of your media conspiracy are people who read sites that you disagree with.  They'd likely say the same about you.

To me it was the idea that at, what 3AM?, some random rednecks decide to grab some bleach and their masks....and head out to Boys Town to randomly target someone?

I wonder where the MAGA part came from.....guessing his agent, so you could put that out there without him ever making that accusation himself.  Because I think it's the MAGA piece that really caused this to go viral, along with the whole "hate crime" aspect of it.

It is kind of funny, though, that NBC breaks the "fake news"....and after CPD disputes the report, the conservative sites continue reporting it as fact (and their end-around the facts is to say "NBC reported....").

War is big business.  A lot of tax money is spent on defense and will continue to do so.

It always employs quite a bit of people so I wouldn't be so quick to say just by pulling troops out that the govt is going to all of a sudden have all this extra money to spend on other things.

 

Well, I think it would certainly make a nasty cut to the bureaucracy machine, outside contracting and the munitions empire.

As far as Jussie Smollet goes: He basically said that if you don't believe him you are racist. I'm also skeptical for all of the reasons that geeblock mention. Also the fact that since this story broke he first refused to hand over his phone and still refuses. Instead, he printed out a spread sheet of his activity, heavily redacted it and gave that to the police. In a way I can understand his reluctance to just give the police his personal stuff on his phone. Cops can be creepers too. 

I'll stick with my funsies conspiracy theory, though, until something solid turns up.

I understand that, too, especially if you're a celebrity.  But I tend to think a victim of a racist and homophobic assault would be so desperate for justice that they would fully cooperate. 

Essentially he's saying his privacy is more important than bringing these assholes to justice....not buying it.

Stranger things have happened, but I find when a story defies credulity that it tends not to be true.  The story sounds more like something out of Mississippi Burning than something that actually would happen in Chicago in 2018 (a.k.a movies vs. reality).

It's funny. The losses stand out to me more than the gains.  I looked and even with the terrible end of 2018 I am still up 40% from January 2017. You're right.
