Am I the only one that realizes QO has been trolling for years?  He has been very consistent, I will give him credit. 

The consistency, especially over all these years when even Sleeper abruptly changed his game and pulled a 180-degree turn from "heh, poors" to "everyone needs everything!!!", is what makes me wonder. I've thought out loud here a couple times that anyone that hilariously over the top with his pronouncements of imminent doom when Ds are in power and claims about how everything is on the road to perfection when Rs are in power is pretty likely to be a left-winger going all out to make Rs look like frothing lunatics, but damn, his dedication to the act is amazing!

My guess is that he's a devout right-winger who is legitimately partisan enough to believe his general talking points, but who takes his opinions up to 11 on here for personal amusement. At the least, though, he puts genuine effort and thought into being what he is, which puts him a few steps above the CCs, Capones and Tiernans of the world.

I do not think QO is trolling. Maybe slightly here and there, but his persona on here, I believe, is 100% him IRL. He’s the kind of person that probably has “OBAMA LIED” on a huge sign outside his house.

Why don't you respond to these questions?

• Prior to around 1920, anyone who showed up here was allowed in (except Asians).  Why do we not extend that same opportunity to the people who want to come here today?
• How will a wall reduce drug smuggling when the DEA affirms that most drugs entering the country illegally do so at border checkpoints?
• Taken as a whole, illegal immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than the general population.  So how does building a wall along the southern border make us safer?
• The US State Department reports that there is not one case of terrorist groups using the southern border as an entryway to the US.  So how will a wall reduce the threat of terrorism.

2 - A wall will allow most resources to be deployed to the areas where the majority of drugs are crossing.  90% of the heroin and opioids come from south of the border.

3 – False.  In Arizona alone the criminal rate is twice that of US-born citizens.

4 – Semantics.  Does MS-13 terrorize the citizens and neighborhoods they occupy.  Are open borders not an invitation for any terrorist to obtain entry?  Does common sense ever come in to play with liberals?

I mean, I'm not liberal, and I don't even agree with you on the wall, but this is pretty accurate (some of it stems from the existing polarization of the parties, regardless of who is in office).  The wall and tight border security has been a talking point since AT LEAST Bush 1.  I don't remember further than that, but every president has talked about ensuring a strong border, in many cases even talking about allocating additional funds to the border.  Daddy Bush did it.  Clinton did it.  Son Bush did it.  Obama did it.  They all talked about it at one time or another, all in support of more security on the border.

For it to suddenly be a problem, PARTICULARLY among politicians who have been in office during the tenures of most of those presidents, is ludicrous.

Or it could be that D's think the wall is a monumental waste of money and that the wall money could be sunk into something more effective/useful.

Would it be a good idea to start a thread about QO so that people can air their grievances or frustrations with them? Or make their jokes or whatever they want to point out to him on any given moment.
Because he's going to do what he does regardless if you can ignore it or not.

You didn't answer the question.  Most of the people coming from south of the border wouldn't qualify for any of the visa options currently available.  If they don't have a sponsor, are highly skilled or have family in the US, their wait is measured in years or decades.  Why were our relatives allowed to become citizens simply by showing up, but we don't extend this same opportunity to those who come after?

2. By having more resources available at checkpoints, the flow of drugs will stop?  Won't cartels with billions of dollars at their disposal always be able to find ways to bring drugs into the US?

3. The crime rate among illegal immigrants is lower than the US as a whole - I"m not isolating Arizona.  How does the wall change that?

4. Most members of MS-13 are American born and didn't come across the border.   How does the wall help that?

This is misdirection.  According to this logic, anytime someone disagrees with Trump, it is because of personal hatred only.  

I don't like Trump.  I don't like Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer either.  Trump is the one who make the wall an urgent issue.  People are allowed to have opinions on the matter based on facts of the case.

Since I am a liberal on here....No...

I just think the wall is a stupid idea and shutting down part of the government is also stupid. 

The time, effort, and money could be used for more effective means and methods to address the issues at the southern border. Building a wall is a giant waste of time and money. It's the perfect case of a government boondoggle. You really think that wall is going to be built on time and budget? Please....

It also takes away from the more important issue of immigration reform. Immigration reform would address more of the concerns and issues than a wall. But, no one wants to address that.
