Now Trump claiming he misspoke during yesterday's press conference with Putin.  Of course he did.

Judge and jury huh?  Look, I don't know if Hillary did something illegal here.  Maybe she did.  If so, she should get hers.  I am no fan of her.  Trump's continuing to bring up her emails though is not a defense against what he's being investigated for.  I have no idea if he collaborated with the Russians.  Why not let the facts speak for themselves instead of continuing to play the "Hillary is guilty" card.  Hillary is not our president.  That makes her case less important in the present.

I don't contend that the US does not engage in covert ops.  What they are though, I have no more idea than you do.  If they are at the same level of what the Russian's are accused of doing, I am confident we'd hear about them regularly though.  Regardless, that isn't really a valid argument here.  It actually sounds like some liberal argument about how our country deserves misfortune because of the crimes in our history.

Why exactly is my head in the sand?  All I'm pointing out is the Trump's defense of what he could potentially be accused of is to point at someone else who he sees as guilty of something else, and has not been held accountable.  How in the world is that not misdirection?

He literally changed his whole point by saying I forgot th nt at the end Of a word and said he thought it was obvious. You can’t be that dumb watching him say it live

As I stated, I am not a Hillary supporter.  She is an ethically challenged hypocrite.  If they broke laws (I say "if" because the presumption of innocence within our legal system - she hasn't been brought to trial), she and whomever cooperated should be held accountable.  Those things have nothing to do with Trump's situation.  He is being investigated by the special counsel and he his the president currently in office.  Those things make his situation higher profile than anything else.  If he is guilty of something, I think that will be found out. But if he is not, he should defend himself based upon facts, not griping about Hillary's case, Obama's incompetence, "fake news", etc.

Guilty or not, he let  Putin dominate him like a grizzly bear in mating season.

Ironic coming from the person who takes everything Trump says at face value and blows off any criticism of him, what he says, how he acts, etc.

Well, that was a nice fantasy until Trump just came out and said he mispoke.  I don't believe him, but that's what he said.  But he does that all the time - says something one day, then denies/walks it back/clarifies the next day.

Him saying he simply misspoke is about as comically implausible as anything I've ever heard.

1. Says one thing in front of Putin.

2. Gets lambasted, even by hardline Rs like Gingrich and his BFFs on Fox and Friends, with only his most devout knob-slobbers like Hannity, Carlson and CC backing him up

3. Comes up with "dog ate my homework" level excuse after realizing no one outside his most hardcore base is on his side on this one.

I mean, it wouldn't be - Pelosi does it on a daily basis - it's just that he said it about 3 different ways, which isn't changed by a singular mispoken word.

He's truly a cretin.  I think, in his mind, that was another good opportunity to take a swipe at Mueller and the "fake news" and he stepped in it because he's completely oblivious to the context of the moment.

“They said they think it’s Russia,” Mr. Trump said. “I have President Putin; he just said it’s not Russia,” the president continued, only moments after Mr. Putin conceded that he had wanted Mr. Trump to win the election because of his promises of warmer relations with Moscow.

“I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be” Russia that was responsible for the election hacking, Mr. Trump added. “President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today.”

If you are the lead statesman from one country who is meeting with a counterpart from another, and that other country has been condemned by your intelligence leadership, and yet your side with the other statesman because he was "strong and powerful" in his denial - that is being dominated in a summit meeting.

Come on...."they say they think".....boy that is a concrete statement.  We have not seen one shred of evidence on who hacked the server of HC.
