Doesn't matter, he's not in office.

But he'd focus on taking care of our own over those in other countries, like it should be.

You have to be incredibly stupid and tone deaf to tweet this.

Harris checks both boxes.

One of the biggest fallacies is "if the rich just paid their share of taxes, ______ would be fixed" as if the government would some how curtail their reckless spending.  The media has done a good job of drilling this into people's heads.  The 1% paid 45% of all income taxes to the government last year, it's absurd to think those people simply paying more would fix anything.

Almost as bad as the Panthers trading up for Bryce Young.

Tax rates are in the same category as abortion - great to campaign on but not so much to actually do. There is probably less than 10 people in Congress willing to fix the tax loopholes and even less willing to rewrite tax code altogether.

And the fact is that presidents, Republican and Democrat, haggle with corporations and unions and whatnot to get endorsements for their campaigns and those endorsements probably include assurances that it will be business as usual.

Sean O'Brien couldn't get sureties out of Trump or Kamala so he didn't endorse either. Goldman Sachs got an obvious deal with Kamala so that's where the land lays there.

Hurricane Milton might be a category 5 when it hits Florida, so there's another payday for Lebanon.

WSJ article said Trump's economic plan would add double to the deficit of Kamala's.  So not good.

Of course, if Kamala has a Democrat controlled congress, the floodgates will open.

I can't believe how awful our choice for POTUS is.  We're screwed if we don't get a divided Congress.

Goes back to me previous post about the passage of a short term CR and how Congress cannot pass a budget on time.

Now, in this cycle, the republican freedom caucas did not agree to any of the spending levels that House Speaker Johnson offered, so Johnson had to work with Democrats to pass a short term measure to fund till December at the current rates..leading to this current problem.

It's funny, I feel like half this board likes it when Congress doesn't do anything or is in gridlock. Well, this is what you get.

Translating the liberal gobbledygook above :

Had no FEMA funds been used on the harris/biden illegal immigration plan, then already-appropriated fema funds could be used for what fema funds are meant to be used for.

This goes beyond all of that though. Speaker Johnson, who is a Republican, can also call back Congress to get funds to FEMA but he said he sees no need to call Congress back in session.

Why?

Because he's playing politics. He would rather sit back and let Kamala mismanage every damn thing because he knows this makes her look bad. The Republicans aren't any good, either. It's as simple as that.

The Senate should flip Republican, providing a big check on Harris.

House is a toss up.

That's why Harris is the least bad option to me.

Different buckets of money that cannot be moved around. That gobbledygook is how government works and Congress holds the purse strings.

Congress holds the funding. The President can rightly say, I want to do more, but Republicans are withholding aide.

In QO’s world, the president’s job is to sit in front of a desk with three levers:

One says “economy good /economy bad”

One says “gas prices high / gas prices low”

One says “let bad stuff happen / don’t let bad stuff happen”

The president’s sole job is to switch the levers to whichever side he chooses.  Doing so will not only make the outcome certain, it will come about in days or even hours.
