To put it another way, this is 2010 in reverse. Instead of a D White House, D Senate and R House, we now have an R White House, R Senate, and D House. I fully expect 2 years of gridlock just like we got in 2011 and 2012.

Agreed

Seeing a lot of handwringing over the "popular vote" for senate and dems losing seats. So dumb.

A lot more dems were up for re-election, for one. California was a race between two dems. Can we repeal the 17th amendment already?

Great to see DeSantis and Scott win in Florida, and all repubs again sweep statewide offices in Ohio.

The senate pickups were well-earned and critical to keeping some of the loony birds in the house in check.

Where Trump campaigned in the last week he went 5 for 5; where obama and the celebs campaigned they went about 0-5.  And the tens of millions of dollars pissed away by Steyer/Soros/Zuckerburg in Texas and Ohio is pure gold.

As much as democratic cities get slammed it’s amazing that people can continue to vote red in states in the south that continue to have the worst economies and educ

LOL there is no such thing as a popular vote for the Senate anyway. Have seen multiple people post this. Argue all you want that 2 Senators from each state doesn't work (which is still dumb), but gtfo with a popular vote made up stat.

If you look at the replies to this tweet, he is calling people dumbasses for not understanding we are a democracy.  Who the fuck is this clown?

I couldn't figure it out. He has a blue check, but I have no clue who he actually is. Certainly an NPC.

Well, I think the problem dems had in Georgia was that, nobody who lives there really cares what Oprah, Sean Penn or Chelsea Handler thinks. That sort of "star power" doesn't really work so much anymore and dems should just give it up. I really thought they would have learned their lessons from trying to have Beyonce stump around. Oh well, some habits die hard.

Also, probably not a good idea to go after certain guns or guns in general in Georgia. FFS

He's the front man for the group "The Airborne Toxic Event". Lost a few minutes listening to one of their songs. Would be something that NPCs listen to for sure.

Last I saw had the Rs at 46 seats with no race or they won handily. They then picked up Texas, Tenn, Mizzou, Indiana, and North Dakota. That's the 51 we know for sure.

Right now the Rs are leading in Az, FL, and Montana. If those leads hold, that is the 54.

Mississippi is a runoff that will occur in 3 weeks, but the R should win, and that would make 55.

I'd say if 2020 goes really well for the Rs, getting to 60 is not outside the realm of possbility.

It would have to go really really well...the Senate map for the GOP in 2020 is a shitstorm. If they can get to 56 now, it gives them some wiggle room to keep the chamber, but 60 ain't happening.

Well some may care what Oprah said, but she was already getting all of those votes. Beyonce and Tswift didn't help either, whoulda thunk.

The race exit polls are still very lopsided for blacks. Latinos were much more in the middle.

And anyone else think it was shitty of Obama to be campaigning? Bush didn't say shit for like 6 years. His campaigning didn't help, but still.

Sidebar - Anyone hear how many (if any) state legislatures flipped yesterday? I'm assuming few if any, or else we would have heard about it.

Dems won a few such as CO, NY, NH, ME; nothing real earth shattering.

This Trump press conference is a complete shitshow. He is loving this and trolling the reporters. He wants to make this about him v. the media.

Welp, Jon Tester hangs on in Montana. So, Ds hold on to that.

Trump lost that one.

Assuming Rs hold on to Az and FL, that would give them 53, with potentially 54 if they win the Miss runoff.

Acosta brings it on himself, and doesn't care that Trump uses it to fuel the fire. Surprised he went after the others though.

Serious question for those who lean left (cc and quaker can sit this one out), do you legitmately enjoy what Acosta is doing?

I know I'm not a fan. He falls right into the trap and seems to take it personally. Dude, just report man. You are not a pundit.
