We are less than 14 days away. Is anyone going to a game. If I can find a decent priced ticket in Atlanta I will probably drive down and go to a game.
Hoping Richard’s is healthy for the US so we can do some damage.

No. Way to expensive. And I do not care to watch a match between Cape Verde and Yemen...

Haha tickets are stupid but it is on my bucket list. The game I’m considering is Spain vs Saudi or a round of 32 game in Atlanta. I luckily can drive down from Nashville and stay with friends in Atlanta
Yeah, I am pretty pissed and salty about the prices. Just insane that we have a home world cup and 90% of the people cant afford to go. I could swing LA or Seattle solo, but that doesnt sound fun. It isnt worth it to take my wife who would go, but doesnt care or my kids who would love it, but probably not remember much.
I'm hoping Spain/Portugal/Morrocco is cheaper. Because those are all on my bucket list for travel as is. So that would be a perfect trip to make and couple with WC.
I had big plans to stay in Monterrey or Guadalajara with a group. Stay for 10-14 days, see as many group matches as possible.
We even had an Airbnb in Monterrey locked in. Once the ticket prices and schedule came out, everyone bailed. It's not like it used to be. You could chill in one city and see a few group matches in a shorter amount of time.
Now with the inflated ticket prices and stupid # of cities, it just doesn't make sense.
I'll be in LA the Friday before the USA / Paraguay match. I considered extending. Last I checked a single nosebleed seat was ~1400. Hard pass.
The other option was just to drive from Denver to KC to party with the Argentinians and just try to get a ticket for the Algeria match. Well that's on a Tuesday, so fuck it.
Predictions to win it all? I got Spain.
I’ll go France
I may or may not watch a game or two on TV. If I think about it while it's actually happening. And there's nothing else on.
I am going with:
FanDuel has a 1x 10,000 profit boost on USA 1+ shot vs Paraguay
Go get your $50
Best half I’ve ever witnessed by USA in my 41 years.

Completely dominated. Saw they had 70% of possession or something. Hopefully Pulisic isn’t hurt.
Someone bet $1m that Spain would beat Cape Verde. Payout would've been like $85k. He lost. What a maroon.

What a dumbass but I guess he probably thought it was a sure thing and 8.6% return in a couple hours is pretty bice
There’s been some great games like the Japan Netherlands game and the Uruguay game today.
All those $1m+ bets for small percentage payouts have to be money washing. It is the only thing that makes sense.

There were four games yesterday. All four ended in ties. People actually like this? I mean, I can get how the Cape Verde or whatever fans would be overjoyed at tying a powerhouse team, but as a spectator, what's the appeal of spending a couple hours watching something that winds up with no actual winner? Imagine an NFL Sunday where every single game ended in a tie. And then imagine how quickly the league office would slam through some sort of rules change to make sure that bullshit never, ever happened again. Just like how college football and the NHL changed rules to make sure that there'd never be another tie again, regardless of how meaningless a regular season game it is being played.

There are no ties after group play. I don't understand the hate of ties when you know that you play everyone in your group. Ties matter when you get a point for them.

I'm speaking more about the actual entertainment value of sitting down to watch something and getting one tie after another. If a tie is comparable to kissing your cousin, yesterday was comparable to raw-dogging her.

A 2-2 tie is often exciting as is a 0-0 tie. I never understood how points or goals determine an entertaining game. If a football team wins 7-0 and it’s a great defensive effort from both teams we don’t say the game suxked

Yeah, idk what to tell you. When the underdog like Cape Verde is fighting for a point, and it might keep Spain from the top spot (who is the likeliest opponent of USA in the quarters if we make it), yeah I am cheering like hell for them to pull it off. That was more exciting that Germanys 7-1 win over Curacao. More ties, the more the games all matter in matchday 3 as well, when the two games in the same group go off at the same time. Teams changing tactics as the other games score might dictate.

The only time I get frustrated watching the game is when a team parks the bus when it’s still 0-0. I understand most teams do it because they know they don’t have the skill to beat the other team but it makes for an incredibly boring style of play
I’m not a soccer guy but England vs Croatia 1st half was really good
DRC getting a tie vs Portugal was also awesome (not being a dick, lol). Portugal is loaded, but they looked terrible. Almost too much talent at the same type of position. They need to inject some pace on the outside to really tap into what could/should be a title competing team.
Someone tell my why the Columbia goalie didn’t use his hands on that goal he allowed?

Sliding over, and the ball was struck very well. I think he was worried about not getting over in time, so slide on his knees to cover the post, which didnt allow his hand to be very mobile. Still think he couldve done more and knocked it away, but catching it was not really an option.
