Jay Bruce for three years at such a bargain price.

Having him and Edwin back to back in the lineup just seems like a no-brainer.

Im sure if it was 2018 @13M-$14M, yes.  Bruce signed for almost exact what the market price was predicted at.

2019 should be Greg Allen at corner OF and Bobby Bradley taking AB away from Alonzo at 1B.

I still contend they coast to the deadline with a 5 game lead in a weak central division.

So only Bauer, Salazar, Chisenhall remain.

Only Bauer will go to Arb: they were .8M apart

Slow chatter. Giants gave Jackson 2 years and 6M. He's gone.

Thome HoFer. Slightly surprised he got in tbh.

His perception of being clean during the dirtiest of times, good guy, 600+ HR and the perfect timing of stats like OPS being greatly considered....he was a career .956

I feel a whole lot of players were better...but good for him. Easy guy to root for.

He is a pretty easy HoFer IMO, only a matter of if he was clean or not. On of the better LH power hitters the game has ever seen.

Me, too.

I'm still pissed about how he left. I got over it a little bit when he "came back".

When he came up, he was a scrawny guy that didn't hit many home runs in the minors.

Then, all of a sudden, he bulks up and becomes a power hitter.

Just listening to Jimmy Donovan saying that he was clean .

He definitely wasn’t scrawny

Does Vizquel eventually get in? I don't think so.

Not thinking he will but I’d be ok if he did

I agree. His hitting numbers are better than Ozzie Smith's and his fielding is camparable and Ozzie's in the HOF. For the record, I don't think Smith should be in.

Much more offensive era for sure though. They are comparable. Both wizards at SS

Ozzie career OPS+ was 87, Omar’s was 82

Omar only 100+ 2x, 90+ 6x

Ozzie 100+ 4x and 90+ 7x

How about I say he was a lot skinnier?

I like Thome and all, but I would be shocked if he was clean. Although I'd be pretty surprised if almost any of the power hitters were in that era.

I don't know.  He just seemed like he was country boy strong.  I'd say he was clean

Quite frankly, I'd be more shocked if he wasn't.

I very very skeptical but even when he was young and much smaller he always had those farm boy big forearms.
