Seems straightforward to me. You evaluate the top quarterbacks and give them a grade. A grade of "X" means you believe you can get to and win a championship with this player. If one or more players scores an "X" or above, you pick the highest rated one. If none of them do, you don't use the pick for that position, avoiding despiration.
Jesus guys, S&L is talking about Phil Taylor, Kellan Winslow, that horrible mangini draft, etc.... Honestly pretty much any draft over the last 20 yrs will show the browns passing on a good QB for someone like Justin fucking Gilbert.
I'd at least give your new GM one draft before assuming he's going to be more of the same.

Thank you lol
Really would make no sense for the browns to take Cousins and not draft a QB. Cousins has had decent talent in Washington and hasn’t been able to lead them anywhere. What makes you think he’d do that here? I’d much rather take a chance on the top grades QB in this class and hope for a Carson Wentz than sign Cousins for a FUCK TON of money and have a ceiling (aka not winning a super bowl with Kirk Cousins).

Thats the kicker here that hasn't been expressed by any poster. If, and thats a big IF, Cousins hit the open market (not sure why the slurs would let him tbh), it will be the richest QB contract signed in the history of the NFL.
Joe Thomas & Andrew Hawkins do this excellent podcast together (JT's really got a strong career option after football if he wants to go in that direction) and JT was talking about what went down the day of the Garoppolo trade. JT said the Browns were "shocked and dumbfounded" that they didn't receove a call from the Pats as they already had a strong working relationship with NE and told them "if Jimmy G becomes available, call us first." He pretty much confirmed everything that was posted in an earlier article (believe by COA).
What I don't believe was mentioned is that Belichick moved JG to San Fran for his own personnel reasons. His feeling was that with the "dysfunctional atmosphere/frequent instability" within the Browns coaching staff/front office that Garoppolo could very well have the "screw this" attitude, be one and done (best case tagged) and end up signing with Buffalo or the Jets, who supposedly also both had interest. The Hoodie feared it would come back to haunt him and he'd be getting beat twice a year by a QB they traded (JT's words, but not verbatim).
This explains a lot of why Belichick moved JG with a hair trigger. Closes that chapter for me of what was pretty baffling consider the Pats usually do their best to fleece people.
posted by Verbal KintIt seems that every year the Browns pick #1 (or #2 except for 2016 SMDH) is a weak elite QB class. Maybe unfounded perception on my ecocentric mind.
Which would make the pick a no brainer if there was a clearcut frontrunner. There's not. Not even close.
Zampese got the qb coach job. Hue better still hire an OC

And people want a "franchise" QB at #1 to let this clown teach him? lol

Well.... at least he’ll probably only be here a year when Hue is fires next year.
What. The. Fuck.

#Browns Hue Jackson still evaluating whether or not he’ll hire an OC. Zampese is QB coach
This is a bunch of bull:
No Cleveland Browns offer for Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan
Hue is becoming a fucking peat

Not that she has any cred, but MKC said she believes Ryan didn't get an offer because he's never called plays. Said she believes Hue would hire someone with experience doing this (doubt it). She also came across as a total apologetic schill for Hue and the Browns. Adam the Bull (92.3) was trying to say how much Haslam & Hue suck and she was pretty much defending them. Even Dustin Fox, who does the Browns pre-game on a local station, was ripping on them.
Not sure if it's been posted but has anyone heard about this racist slur video one of the higher ups in Pilot Flying J was singing along with his employees while ripping on Cleveland? Apparently Haslam won't comment on this.
If that douche doesn’t hire an OC he needs fired immediately.
Have fun averaging a touchdown a game with Hue/Zamepese/No OC
Watching this jaguars game, anyone wanna say a RB with a top pick isn’t a good idea? Jags’ fournette makes this jaguars offense so much better.

Believe it or not I’ve now watched Jacksonville 8x this season. Fournette has looked really dominant 2x....both against Steelers.
He is very good and I really like what he brings but I don’t know if it’s accurate just based on this game.
