Watching this jaguars game, anyone wanna say a RB with a top pick isn’t a good idea? Jags’ fournette makes this jaguars offense so much better.

So does Bell, and he was the 48th pick. I still don’t want a rb for our specific situation (needs, coach, etc) in the top 4.

This franchise can’t even work til 5pm, let alone draft a stud RB in the second round.

Browns already have a very good, versatile weapon RB, in Duke Johnson, and dumbass Hue doesn't even know how to use him. Has to fire the RB Coordinator so he has a scapegoat for his shitty play calling.

If the Browns were going to replicate a particular NFL team's model, it should be the Jaguars. They have built that team up with a lot of high draft picks and have sprinkled in some key free agent signings/trades. They are winning with defense, a strong running game and (essentially) a game manager-type QB.

This year has been an outlier but it shows a team can get to, and compete, in the playoffs without a franchise type QB.

Lol so if Hue hires an OC who hasn't called plays, he would still call plays? Why the hell is this guy allowed to still be here.

Mularky rumors currently (who would call plays).

Even though they have a slew of draft picks, a ton of cap space and a new front office, I can't really get excited/optimistic until Hue is gone. I just get the feeling that if they are an 8 win team (talent-wise), Hue will find a way to win 5 because of his crappy coaching.

Outside of Gregg Williams, he's pretty much gutted his coaching staff in a "it was them, not me" type move. Plays the blame game way too much to save his own skin.

Right, like it was the rb coach's fault he decided to never run it...

Of the final 4 teams, only 1 is a franchise Qb. Foles, Bortles, and Keenum aren’t good. They all have great defenses though. Cleveland has a chance to get there with their corp, so that gives me some promise.

I’m not with you on the Barkley at 1 train. I’m taking the best QB available at 1.  If Barkley (or whoever) is available at 4 or if we trade down and get a stud RB later, I’m perfectly okay with that.

Quarterback is the only position to draft on need, where you take one even if you have players at different positions that grade higher. Other than that, need is a terrible talent evaluator. If Barkley is there at 4 and he's your highest rated (non-QB) player on the board, he's the pick.

Would much rather Fitzpatrick at #4

He's shooting up draft boards. If he's there at 4, it'd be a great pick.

Chubb or Fitzpatrick at 4 for me. Chubb/Garrett could be the next Ingram/Bosa

Yes, the Jags would be in the same spot if they drafted the two better rookies (hunt and kamara) over fournette in the later rounds.

I am not saying the running game isn't important.  Generally teams that find a way to run the ball and stop the run also find themselves very competitive.  It's a value argument for me.  You can find the same or better value in the 2nd or 3rd round.   This upcoming draft class for instance is pretty loaded at the RB position.  There is no reason to be drating Barkley in the first round with this class.  Based on the last 15 years, there is a great chance Barkley won't even be the best RB in this draft class.

In the last 3 drafts, there was a 100% success rate in drafting RB's in the first 10 picks of the draft.

Fournette, McCaffrey

Zeke

Todd Gurley

All 4 of those guys can help our team, so why are you so against drafting someone in the top 10 that can help our team?

I realize there are studs in the 3rd, 4th rounds. There are also quite a bit of duds. Not a lot of duds are drafted in the top 10 at the RB position.

If the Browns were to go the Kirk Cousins route, versus using #1 overall on a QB, I'd want both. In fact, those are the two I'd target. I think Chubb can be better than Garrett.

I’m indifferent on Cousins. If they like him go for it. But also fine drafting whoever they grade out as best.

If they do sign him, I’d probably try to start a bidding wars with NYG, Denver and NYJ. Then take Chubb and Fitzpatrick with the new pick and 4. Fitzpatrick probably first, as Indy might be looking at him. Cannot trade past 6 though, isn’t care how much of a haul they are offered.

Every team in the playoffs as of this weekend (except one) was in the top 6 of running the ball this season. The other is the Patriots who were 10th. It is very important.
