I appreciate the sentiment, but it's not necessarily just the money. I'm only losing $1-3/month. I pay $10/month for the server, but haven't made $10+ from ad revenue since December. Last month was $9.xx. The month before was $7.xx. This month is sitting at $9.14 so I might actually break $10. I'd feel bad if we did a crowdfunding round and in 3 months we're back to the same ol' shit. Things have become stale, almost all conversation revolves around current events, which all suck, and I'm sick of talking about. Especially given the way the conversation tends to go when people disagree. There's no growth, and there aren't enough members still active for any new conversation to really start. Serious Business is basically dead and that was the only fun part of running this place.

I only tossed that out there because one of the shady ass promoters of a wrestling federation I used to work/wrestle for pulled that shit as "door prizes."

I brought this up a while ago. The days of the high school-like message boards are going the way of the dinosaur. JJ's obviously died out. People are getting older, having families and moving on, etc. Aren't that many diehards who still get on these sites to kind of get away from it all.

Between JJ's, Yappi & this site, a lot of us have seen people grow up, go to college, get new careers, have kids, etc over over a span of 15-20 years. Even though I haven't met a single person from these sites, it seems like I "know" many of them and wouldn't hesitate to buy them a few brews.

I'm sure this will end, at some point, but I, for one, will say it's appreciated that you did what you did when you created it.

It would be worth it for me to pay a small fee to help keep this place going for a bit. Not a huge variety but a lot of mostly intelligent sports people on here. FB sports talk is THE worst, not much twitter chat.

I like the option of checking what’s going on here each day, not a ton but I feel like I know most of you after all these years.

Id live without it....I’ve been ok without baseball and no one likes baseball more than I do. I’d meet up with most people on here.

Yeah, my sole visitation here was for the sports, mostly Browns, talk but that section seems very slow. Liked getting on here and talking with fellow Browns fans and some (believe it or not) Steelers fans about football. With it being slow (seemed like I'd turned into Drarby with his 20+ consecutive posts with my posts on the Browns thread) I've posted more in serious business but some of those threads turn into pissing contest/clusterf#cks.

Honestly, none. But at least call it what it is and say the place got stupid because S&L came back. 

Ha it might be more stupid, but I like arguing with him. Without bitching about things, and especially without sports, there isn’t a whole lot to talk about. He might dislike me, and I might feel the same, but it keeps it interesting. I’d still drink a beer with him, even if he doesn’t feel the same. If this place died, I’d have a lot of free time that I wouldn’t know what to do with.

I flat out have no idea who or what to believe anymore. I wish there were a mandate put out that all written information be labeled on the top of the front page...factual, satire, persuasive, fictional....whatever. I’m completely sick of about 85% of everything I come across. If this article is true then a lot of people should be canned. I can’t imagine my livelihood came from writing lies and false truths trying to scare or trick or persuade people.

This is what sells these days - disaster porn.  I actually convinced most my family to stop relying on CNN for their info on the pandemic.
