Was gonna go out for my wife’s birthday, just get a couple drinks at the brewery down the street. Place was packed. The sketchy part was how many kids were there.

Think there's a solid chance I have it. Waiting for a call back from the local clinic to set an appointment to get tested. If I do, it's a mild case, so far.

Pounding headache, runny nose, some coughing, but feels like there's a pit in the middle of my chest when I work out.

The two biggest reasons I'm getting checked are 1) I plan on working at my office, a few days, starting next week and 2) one of the mom's of our grand kid likely has it and my girlfriend has been babysitting the two grand kids that come from that house.

Is your insurance covering? Pay out of pocket, then reimbursed? If it's the latter, make sure you know exactly what is needed to get the reimbursement....forms, invoice, correct codes, etc.

I'm dealing with this right now. Got antibody test 2 weeks ago. Doc didn't give the right documentation, now I'm waiting on him to provide before I can submit the claim.

Saw over the weekend where Ohio cases are rising. Is that the same nationally where it is largely young people? Is there a rise in hospitalizations as well? Or, is that largely the same or going down? I've seen the death rate is about the same over the last week or so.

Cases are on the decline in Maryland, so spike thankfully. But, then again, mask wearing is the norm in most places here. It is required in most counties. We are in the Phases 2 and 3 of reopening here with some indoor dinning. I went out with a friend and ate at a BBQ joint inside over the weekend.  People were spaced out enough and wearing masks. The menus were wiped down after each use. I felt pretty safe eating there and wasn't too outside the normal actually.

I do not believe hospitalizations or deaths are rising. Ohio also just started offering free testing to anyone who wants it. Cases were bound to rise.

I just checked with my wife, who downloads the data from the state every day, and hospitalizations and deaths are, indeed, not rising. They've remained pretty steady, and deaths are actually decreasing. That could changes as deaths are backdated, but as of now, it's only cases increasing.

There were ~2200 hospitalizations in May. So far in June (up to the 27th) we're at 1111 hospitalizations.

Not sure, at this point. I figured it would be easy enough to just call the local lab and go in. Nope. Have to do a virtual appointment with a doc and hope he refers me to this local lab 5 minutes from my house versus driving 45 minutes to the closest Cleveland Clinic lab.

Also should add, antibody tests were negative for me and my gf.

Kinda disappointed, we were both exposed to positive cases. Hers was her manager who she sits right next to.

Cases of young people are on the rise cause we shut schools down to early.  The best place for herd immunity is a school cafeteria.

Something interesting I thought I'd share.

Is anyone aware of the massive bike shortage due to COVID?

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/18/nyregion/bike-shortage-coronavirus.html

I've been riding a lot in Colorado. I got a killer Craigslist deal on an old Trek MTB. 8-10 miles daily. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it is for a mountain bike....SUCKS for long rides on pavement. So I thought I'll leave this here and get a hybrid bike for NYC. I've always been scared to ride there, but it's time...fuck it. It's an awesome workout and great way to see more of the city.

Mid-level bikes are damn near impossible to get. Huge shortages in shops all over the country. I've probably called 30-40 shops in the past two weeks looking for specific models. Finally made some progress yesterday. Had to order directly from Trek and spent way more than my original budget. Arrival date....September 7th.

Anyway, that's the story. If you're looking for a bike right now...good luck.

DeWine doing an unplanned 2pm press conference today. He said that would only happen if there were breaking news.

I’m kind of torn on what he’s going to say. Making masks more mandatory? Closing down bars again? Reopening drinking fountains??!!

We've been expecting him to announce that masks will be mandatory for about a week now. That would be my guess.

Is there a good number of the estimated amount of people that have been exposed to this?  It probably has been well over half the population by now, I think that early March was the second "wave".

Based on my twitter feed, that won’t go over well.
