What animals have you unintentionally hit with your car.

Deer…yeah 4x

4-6 squirrels

6-8 rabbits

1 skunk

Couple small turtles

Some birds

Typical stuff in SE Ohio with country road and small highway driving. I drive A LOT

Today I hit a new one. I hit a coyote. Was still dark, I was on cruise control about 62-63 mph. It was sideways just into the passing lane facing the way I needed it to be….I veered right to give it room if it came back my way and it planted and darted back just like those squirrels and rabbits do. Drilled it. No damage however to my 20 year old Accord

Oh….about 18 years ago I hit a black angus cow at night on a 4 lane highway. Totaled that civic

Besides like squirrels and birds I once hit a decent size turtle in a park in West Virginia. I will always remember it a nice sunny day driving with the windows down see the turtle and try to swerve and miss it. I hit the turtle and hear the shell crack.

I hate everything about coyotes. I only hate spiders more.

I hit a deer about every 3-4 years for some reason. Has to be about 6. Had 3 jump out in front of me right in the direct line of fire and somehow only hit one.

Growing up in a very rural area (Amish country) it was pretty common to hit animals that would pop out of nowhere. Nothing you could really do.

Speaking of birds, not a "hit" but me and my buddy were driving down the road in the late 80's/early 90's in the summer with our windows rolled down. A bird flew through the drivers side window, in front of my face, and out the passenger window, in front of my buddy's face. About a minute later there was a delayed reaction, from both of us, and my buddy says "did a bird just fly through both windows?" And I'm like "I didn't want to say anything in case you didn't see it, and thought I was crazy, but yeah."

1 cat and a few squirrels. Felt bad every time. Been lucky enough to never hit a dog (came close a few times) as that would probably crush me.

Was a passenger when the driver got hit by a deer. Deer ran out and ran into the side of our rental car then ran back into the brush.

We have a few Coyotes that roam the neighborhood. Usually see them a few times a month -- more in spring. I love them. They eat all the fuckers that eat my garden (rabbits, squirrels, mice, etc). I wish we had more of them.

This might be the wildest list I have ever seen.

I have hit a hawk and some other bird. The other bird looked like Randy Johnson when he hit it. Just disintegrated on the grill of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Was going probably 80-85 in on M72 in N. Michigan, thing swooped down in and was toast! Only feathers left all over the grill and inside the hood. I have almost hit a few squirells and geese, but they always get out of the way in time.

Yes. Shih Tzu-Bichon. A few bigger dogs on the block and a few smaller. We have luckily never had an attack on any of them.

As for our dog, always on a leash when we let him outside -- mostly because he is 16 and wanders, but now cant hear well enough to come back haha.

Was going to say, unless you had a Pit Bull, Rottweiler, etc definitely keep an eye on a smaller dog as a coyote will snatch a small one up in a heartbeat. They're pretty bold. I'm seen them attack dogs on leashes.

The one deer hit me….driving a Honda civic and a deer smashed into my driver’s side window, blow it everywhere and all over me and the deer head itself I believe hit up against my arm slightly during the whole thing. I was 25 miles from home and covered in glass and was afraid to move. After my car was repaired I continued to find glass throughout that car the rest of the time I had it.

I have horses and all my neighbors have some type of livestock, so coyotes are a menace.

My closest neighbor and I have our horses run together and so we pool hay and such. He bought a donkey to keep with our babes as a security agent. That damn thing, named Buddy, was the best investment ever! Other neighbors have started investing in donkeys, too. None of our animals have been attacked or killed for some time.

Donkeys are natural born coyote killers lol

Yep. Know of a few, some right off the leash in front of the owner. The ones right near us are also close to a few nature preserves, so I think they are pretty well fed and steer clear of humans when they see one.

Old house was about 15 miles east towards Chicago, and we drank in the parking lot after a softball game one week. Had 4 of them start to circle us and come closer. When we all walked to the cars, the "object" they were circling (us) obviously got bigger and they scattered quickly. But that was the one time where I felt a Coyote was actually not afraid to just maul a human in the suburbs.

guys, you're off topic. keep it to animals you've murdered with your vehicles.

please make a donkey/coyote thread if you want to discuss that instead. thanks.
