The omnibus bill is exactly why I hate the government. A bunch of bullshit ways to spend taxpayers and other money, and then both sides cry about the deficit. Everyone can fuck off until someone grows a dick to actually try and curb spending. Don’t cry to me about the tax cuts while spending billions on dumbass stuff.

Terrible bill ..........drunken sailors.  I hope Trump issues the veto.

As I said when people cried about tax cuts and keeping more of their own money.  Instead of crying about keeping your own money, how about you/we hold our politicians responsible for cutting SPENDING.  It's fucking absurd where some of our money is going to.  Just read Rand Paul's twitter to see where the funding is going.

That is what inspired my post. Complete garbage.

"Here, guys.  Here's 2,200 pages of shit.  Read it, so that you can vote on it in a few hours."

Fucking PPACA bill all the fuck over again.

Omnibus bills are a fucking tire fire anyway.  And when they deliver them with so little time to go over and scrutinize them, that's fucking absurd.

I'm not the biggest Rand Paul fan, but I appreciate his stream-of-consciousness tweets from last night and this morning.

The bill is an economic butt fuck.  If anyone who has previously used a platform of small government, cutting spending, or cutting taxes votes in favor of this bill, they're a hypocrite, and they need to shut the fuck up and own the fact that their actions are in favor of this bloated shit.

That'd be one of the better things he would have done in office if he does.  I'd be a fan of that action.

Exactly.  Cutting taxes is awesome, but it still fucks us over without a cut in spending.

If you assume, [very] conservatively, we add another $10T in debt over the next 8 years.....$30T at normalized interest rates of 6% is $1.8T a year, or a little over 40% of the current budget.

In your scenario, the top 5% will probably be all right (that 2-5% tier isn't exactly rich)....the bottom 70% will be all right (because they have no real wealth to dilute).  But that other 25% are fucked.

The turnaround plan, in a nutshell:

1) -- Substantial spending cuts to stop the bleeding.

2) -- De-lever by selling trillions of dollars worth of federal assets; the federal does not need to own half the property, plant and equipment it does.  Apply trillions in proceeds to the national debt.

3 -- Require a balanced budget amendment to insulate the taxpayers from such folly in the future.  Obviously domestic spending will be slashed (see # 1 above), starting with the handouts first.

I do hope you know this includes the Defense Budget. If everything is on the table, that includes chopping the DOD Budget from its crazy height.

It also, probably means the Wall. Why spend money on the "beautiful" wall when you can just update the existing fencing with less expensive technology. I'm not willing to shell out $21B when less than $10B will do.

Also means agreeing to a new BRAC where we close or restructure a lot of the military bases around the country. That is really needed, yet is not popular in Congress as it does mean communities will lose their bases. You said you want to sell assets. DOD has a tooon of empty spaces at bases.

Finally, also means we probably end up losing a leg of our nuclear arsenal. We are planning to replace all three legs now, and that is costing us about a $1 trillion over the next 3 decades.

I would also add if we cut as much as you say, then there is no infrastructure plan. It would 100% fall to the states to carry the whole load.

I'm not unopposed to your plan, just that it needs to include the DOD and the wall.

Bloody hell, he signed it. Fuckdammit!

*Edit*

I hope to God that somebody, either democrat, republican or libertarian, comes around and runs in '20. I'm so sick of Trump it's not even funny. If he'd think even half as much as he tweets, he might be somebody worth being interested in. But as of right now, he's not.
Pissing off CNN and Hillary is not good enough, it never has been. It's not cute or funny. Well, maybe sometimes it is funny, but that's not the point.

You can't say you're "draining the swamp" when all you're really doing is putting in your own swamp to replace someone else's. Joins "hope and change", "yes we can" and whatever as empty buzzwords designed to captivate empty heads. Well, it was already there and has been for a long time, but hopefully some of the emptier heads start to realize shit.

Why drain the swamp when you can ease your old, tired bones in and take a load off? I hear the water's nice.

Again, the rules of the system/swamp prevent something half decent from occurring. I guess we need a super majority.

Interestingly enough, that's pretty much what Obama said in his failed version of "drain the swamp".

That would be the system of checks and balances ...

And of course, he could have vetoed this.  That would have been more than half-decent as far as decisions go.

I have a sort of admiration for the mental gymnastics Quaker goes through to avoid blaming Trump or any 'Pub in power (except for the more modern ones) for ANYTHING. It's always the fault of:

1. Current Dems.

2. Past Dems.

3. The system.

4. Mass corruption that ALWAYS and ONLY is rooted in the Dems.

5. Third party people siphoning votes from those good, salt-of-the-earth hard-working Rs to hand Ds elections.

6. Anything else that pops into his head.

Well, he does blame some GOPers in Congress when they don't fall in line with the GOP president.
