Got my first dose of moderna today. No issues at all.
My 2nd dose is scheduled for 1/9, wife will have her 2nd the week following. Like Auto said, for me it’s always been more about the risk of me, as an asymptomatic carrier, giving it to our parents, grandparents, or at-risk patients. It will be nice to not have to quarantine and test negative prior to seeing family if we would like.
I would think that a lot of people will wait a few weeks after the 2nd dose and then go get an antibody test to see if it worked.

That's smart. Maybe combine that with an MRI to make sure they didn't chip you.

I cant tell if you are being a smartass or not but antibody tests are cheap, $25 bucks. Why not make sure that this man made virus and massive science project of a vaccine are actually working.
according to my sources, these "MRNA" vaccines use an amalgam of HELA DNA and jellyfish DNA to provide the viral immunity and make it compatible with our human DNA. Since I've read up on Henrietta Lacks (HELA) i'm going to pass on this, give me the live virus vaccine, or nothing.

Nice. I have been hearing from friends, that the 2nd dose is where the symptoms start. Most feel feverish with aches for about 24-72 hours.
My grandmother was just “put on the list.” My mom said she has to check back in two weeks.
What does that mean regarding roll out in Ohio? She’s 83. Lives alone. They are opening it to non nursing home residents and health care workers?

80 and older are eligible for the vaccine in Ohio starting January 19th. I think each county is doing it siff

Any word on how they're going to roll that out? I thought the original plan, at least federally, was to use CVS and Walgreens. That makes a lot of sense given those two pharmacies vaccinate millions every year for the flu.
Doesn't seem feasible or practical to roll this out through PCP's. And hopefully there's a better plan logistically so you don't have 1000 people show up at 9am at a Walgreens that has only 10 doses.
When I got tested, I booked an appointment on line and I think it was ultimately through Walgreens, but not sure. That would seem to make the most sense. But it's government, they'll continue to fuck this up for a while.

It’s different by country some countries in Ohio are already doing signups some haven’t said anything. What county is she in
Not that I want to get it but I can see it being mandatory for work and also I think some events may require it so why not, eh?
