My guess is Katzenmoyer.

He had 20 a game it seemed….in my eyes on Spielman seemed more of a tackle machine

Good guesses, but it's neither of those two.

Great win by the Buckeyes. What an offense. Next year could be great if they get this defense figured out.

Sounds like butthurt that SEC has the two best teams.
Sorry, but the TV people want eyes.

What former Ohio State player holds the record for most tackles in the game with 20?
Anyone care to take a stab at this?

Spielman is always my first guess when it comes to tackle records but I don't remember him playing in the Sugar Bowl. I'll guess Matt Wilhelm.

It's not Spielman, Wilhelm, or Katzenmoyer.......
Clue:
A recognizable name from the 70"s.

An eight team playoff would have been awesome again this year and likely we would have a different championship game.

Cousineau or Marek?

Yep, Tom Cousineau. 1978. Ohio State lost to Alabama 35-6.

Is 7 the record, or are there some 8th year players out there somewhere?

Makes me think of the line, “Christ, seven years of college down the drain. Might as well join the fucking Peace Corps.”

It’s a good game….love taking the stud d lineman and putting him on the o line for the goal line play

Both huge plays where QB threw ball 2 yards went against Georgia

Now it’s entertaining. The game needed me to come here and be a smartass to get going.

These d lines are just a bunch of Sunday players

Typically I would agree with you. In this case, it would have been better if Alabama had won (at least for me). If Alabama had won, their fans would act the same as they had the past 10 years. On the other hand, Georgia fans will now never shut the fuck up about this game. I live in the south, and Georgia fans are the worst. Despite not winning a natty in 40 years (until last night), they act as if UGA has always been elite. They are like redneck Michigan fans. Last night's game will fuel their egos for the next 60 years.

Perfect comparison. I lived in Birmingham for six years. In my experience, Alabama fans are not particularly obnoxious. Could be because they are spoiled. Regardless, I didn't find them to be over the top and they were generally respectful when talking about the Buckeyes.
Having lived here and in Atlanta, Georgia fans are a whole other monster. They consider their program a top three type place historically. I won a $50 bet with a guy in the early 2000s that insisted Georgia had a higher overall winning percentage than Ohio State - a fallacy that could be discredited in .01 seconds. His stubborn ass wouldn't believe it and he lost. He turned out to be a former walk on on the team, so he was doubly insufferable. Beyond him, I find their fans in the South to be completely detached from reality. They seem to look down upon Alabama and Florida even though both have had multi decade stretches of curb stomping the Bulldogs. Hell, there are even stretches when Georgia Tech wins two out of three with UGA, but you'll never hear about that.
On top of all this, their fight song is the tune of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" repurposed much the same way Weird Al Yankovic does music.
They are like Michigan - think they're elite because they say they are.
