Anyone know why there are two games on a Saturday, 12-15 (Browns at Denver is one of them)?

They have Saturday games every single year once CFB is done. Every year people forget about it. But I assume this I just that again. Christmas being on the weekend in years past made it awkward also.
posted by BR1986FBThey will likely schedule the Browns against Pittsburgh in week 1, since Leveon Bell won't show up until 10 days before the season and he'll be rusty, so they can guarantee that Pittsburgh gets off to a good start.
Had heard it would be Baltimore in week 1 but nope, just as planned....Pittsburgh. Also, according to last year's records, Browns have the fifth most difficult strength of schedule.
Steelers then @ New Orleans. Thanks NFL!

Like I said before, I swear they do this shit for the teams that they project to be playoff teams to get off to a faster start.

Wasn't it King previously who said the he had inside sources that said Dorsey was high on Allen and he would be the pick?

He actually backtracked on that in this article. He did have Allen to Cleveland but one of King's sources said there was "too much risk" with Allen and this team wasn't in a position to take a risk....pretty much what a lot of us have been saying all along.
The 'Allen to Cleveland" BS hasn't made sense all along. As I've stated before, I think they have been trying to pump up his stock so either a player drops to them at 4 or they can get a huge trade rape with someone who might want to come up to get him at 4.
Although I think Darnold won't amount to much more than a middle of the road/average QB, I'm fine with this mock (Darnold-1. Chubb-4) if it means dodging the Josh Allen bullet.
While I think Baker Mayfield has potential to be the best QB in this class, Darnold is a close second (albeit with more growing pains). Anything but Allen/Barkley and I'll be "happy".

Here’s how I stand in my confidence for Browns based on sources and other people I trust sources: Darnold - 95% Rosen - 3% just bc Dorsey said he wants 0 leaks and there’s been 0 Rosen rumors Mayfield - 1.5% Allen - 0.5% I’ll keep the door open, but it’s not Allen
I'd be really floored if it was Allen. Just can't see how a QB who would be a 3rd round project in most drafts could end up the #1 overall pick.
I want Rosen but I can live with Darnold.

Maybe it's just me, but I haven't really seen the media link Allen to any other teams like they do with the Browns. You don't see many reports about how (insert) team is in love with Allen. It adds to my skepticism.

Mayfield’s not a 1 by any means, and if Barkley is available at 4 and the Browns don’t take him, it’ll go down as another one of their epic fuck ups. Period.

So if Chubb and Barkley both turn out to be pro bowlers, it would be an epic fuck up if the Browns took Chubb over Barkley?

lmao, no

Yeah, taking a RB that may give you 5 productive years, when you can get one that will likely give similar production in the 2nd round in a very strong RB draft, versus grabbing the best pass rusher, in a VERY weak DE draft, would be an "epic fuck up?" Potential elite pass rushers don't come around all of the time when very good to above average RB's seem to happen every draft. RB is a position of luxury. QB's, shutdown CB's, LT's and pass rushers are "must haves."

If they both end up pro bowlers, then you’d have a good argument that it wasn’t. I just think our offense has more of a need than our defense right now, and I’m still feeling the burn of our recent (and numerous) first round defensive ‘flops’. Also, in my opinion, Barkley will have more of an immediate impact than Chubb/Fitzpatrick would, but it’s probably a moot point—the Giants will grab him at 2.

You're overvaluing running backs. Hopefully the Giants make that decision for the Browns, so they don't make an idiotic decision.

You mean like the running back, Trent Richardson?
