Are you the "same vacation every year", "saw it once, moving on", or somewhere in between?
For myself, I was in the semi-regular category (Vegas, a couple of places in the Caribbean), but as remaining time starts to run shorter, there's just too many places left to see.
Boundary Waters every year by myself, but my wife and I take random trips to wherever we feel like going each year. No real regular spot together.

What are your top 5 places you haven't visited but plan to?
We don’t venture out greatly. We have 3 different places we hit for vacation. Keep it simple for sure. While on vacation there is no “schedule”
As the kids get closer and closer to being all out I can see a bigger variety for my wife and I.
Mostly new locations, but definetely some semi-regulars.
Used to have a cabin in Grayling, MI that we’d go to 5-10x a year, depending on the year and sports schedules. Plus, a big trip every few years (Alaska/England/France/Italy/Galapagos/Ecuador/Cuba) have been the big ones.
Since marriage, cabin has been sold by my parents, and wife and I did a big trip (New Zealand and Australia, France, Caribbean) 3x before kids. Now, it’ll be a bit before we go overseas again, probably once they can remember it — though we are planning a big 10 year anniversary one to Europe in 2025, and kiddos will be with grandma and grandpa.
We still do at least 1, usually 2-3 domestic trips a year over long weekends or “spring break”
Usually a new place each time, with the exception of New Orleans. We got married there and head back every 3-5 years. Each time we try and visit new areas or restaurants of the city.
We have a few spots within driving distance that we like to go, but mostly try to go to new places for a long weekend. Have been to Europe 4 times and for the most part have been to all new places. Wanted go back this year (without kids) but obviously that isn't happening. Florence is the one city I don't mind going back to multiple times.
Been married for 6 years, but have really only done 1 all-inclusive and Europe once as big vacations, then the rest have been locally or back home to Ohio. Little kids have put a damper on travelling.

As a kid, my family had a beach timeshare, it was great. As I got older, I started doing my own thing and the same place every year lost it's appeal.

OK, now the opposite, what are a couple of places (if any) you have been that you regret the expense of money and/or time?
I love traveling. Doesn't matter to me for vacations. Love Ireland, would go there all the time, if I could. Would like to check out more of Europe.
Don't get to do many vacations due to work (or lack thereof) and three kids. So, most are short jaunts or to see family.

We plan on doing Prague, train to Vienna, train to Salzburg, train to Munich for the 10 year anniversary. If we can swing it, 4 days in the coast in Spain. Somewhere around Malaga, most likely. And a few days in Barcelona.

Honestly, none. If I had to pick one, Cuba. Because the restrictions are so intense, there is zero “vacation” going on. It’s all learning and tours. But also something completely extraordinary and awesome at the same time.
Edit: I would say I don’t need to go back to certain places, but then again, I’ve been to Paris 4x (2 for work, extended to a small vacation) and have more fun each time as I get to know the city inside and out.
one vacation is a past place we like and one is new every year.

My wife and I love weekends in Chicago
You have to mix it up. Also, you can throw in some 3-4 day weekends to places like Vegas and NY every year, while still taking more of a "true" 7-10 days at new spots.
And then people will have either the snow skiing trip or golf trip every year, which is different but also still sort of the same vacation.
I aim for one legit vacation and a handful of long weekends.
Most Years we do a week in Vegas and 5-7 days in Nashville and then 7-10 days at an all inclusive.
This year we haven’t went anywhere except Vegas. I’ve been 3x and will be going a 4th time after thanksgiving and the wife has went twice

Heading out there for work tomorrow. Of course they have us staying at the Marriott TPC Resort and not the strip. Hotel blockings were for the Cosmo (my favorite), but due to COVID NBC pushing us as far away from crowds as possible.
