I remember someone on twitter last year saying that once covid is over they'd be moving on the aliens as the next big thing we need protection from. Seems like pretext for firing up the money printers to me.

So these things are visible on radar, infra-red and even the naked eye.  Yet in 50+ years of searching we've not detected any signals of life from outerspace?

I'm with most people in that there probably is other life in the universe, probably even intelligent life.  But the odds they have technology to visit us, much less have actually been here, are virtually nil.

Thus, despite the click bait of "100 to 1000 years ahead of our tech", smart money is this is, in fact, US technology.

Didn't they pretend to "defund" NASA like 10 years ago?  I think that was mainly just an excuse to spend more money for Elon Musk to blow up rockets.

Thinking this will be a good excuse to spend a few hundred billion per year on a black space budget, which will just be a cover for a hundred billion on BS climate change stuff with a sliver of that greasing politicians palms, of course.

That's not really anything new.  And this UFO stuff started leaking a few years ago.

Although if they DO wheel out the corpse of a Roswell alien, complete with face mask to protect everyone from Covid....that'd get a chuckle.

It’s hard for me to be overly interested in something 100% subjective. I believe the air force pilots stories more than I’d believe anyone else, but it’s still meh. I have no reason to believe I’ll ever witness any of this stuff myself.

It’s like when NASA announces they discovered a new planet light years away. Cool, hope my great great great grandkids can visit it someday.

I hope the aliens are all just like Donald Trump.  Everyone just assumes the aliens are here either to enlighten us, or conquer us - but what if they're just a bunch of asshole frat boys that stole dad's spaceship?

The problem is - based upon most of the people who have been abducted - is the aliens all seem to go immediately for the anal probe.  You don't want that happening in your living room or anywhere else.
