Just bought a 16.6 cu ft upright freezer for the garage. Our current 7ish cu ft chest freezer will be repurposed as a keezer (chest freezer kegerator).

Usually their mystery packs are my weakness, but I’ve managed to show restraint today. I bought a bunch when they had their $13 sale a month or two ago.

Monday's deal was take an extra 30% off women's sale items...and then another 10% off that. Couldn't pass up their sweats for less than $30.

Nothing fun. Just got an estimate for a fence $5k, woof. Bought wife a present for having our baby, $400.

Just finished putting in the $5k fence....gross. But it looks good and will tire the dog out. Now going to get quotes for a cement parking pad and a 500 sq. foot patio. Also just dropped a grand on a week in Hilton Head in a couple of weeks. Adulting is expensive.

What kind of fence did you get, and how many linear feet (I'm assuming that's the key driver of price, other than material) was it? I'd really like to have our 30+ year old chain link fence replaced soon.

It was small. 184' linear feet of 4 foot white vinyl picket fence. HOA makes you have white fence, and I'm not about painting a fence every 2 years. Thankfully my neighbor already had the long side of my property fenced otherwise it probably would have been closer to $10k.  I'm sure chain link or even wood privacy would be cheaper.

Gotcha. Our plan is to have a mix of wood privacy fence for the back and side yards, and black aluminum fence for the front yard. I haven't measured our current fence yet, but I'm guessing it's around 300' that will need replaced. I'm thinking I could probably do the privacy fence myself, with a little help from someone else, as it doesn't seem it would be that hard if I rented a gas-powered auger to dig the post holes.

i'm about to pull the trigger on a house in Pittsburgh, so that's going to stifle my ability to make impulse buys for a while.

Just looked, that's pretty sweet.

I really hate dragging a bag behind me though. I'm currently considering a Mission Workshop Travel backpack, currently using a backpacking backpack for longer trips, but like to get something that is easier on the eyes.

I've been going back and forth for a while over this or just a single bag, duffel with straps or something similar. I currently have two carry ons, one has a built in garment bag. Both are fine for the US to carry on, but iffy in Europe. I wanted something that would replace both and fit international and domestic carry on requirements.

This checked all the boxes. It was suprisingly hard to find. Budget airline size requirements are all over the place.

Tell me about it, I thought I might be throw in the gulag for punching this B in the face on Norwegian air who tried to give me grief for my backpack carry on.

I'm deep in the one bag travel game though. Last two week trip I bought 1 shorts, 2 pants and like 4 shirts. Just do laundry in the sink and good to go. Hate carrying a bunch of shit.

I'm going for 11 days with that carry on and a small hiking/snowboarding daypack. I do have some short hikes planned, so the giant backpack route is unnecessary.

2 years ago I got charged 40 euro twice because my carry-on was like a inch too large. It almost equaled the cost of the round trip flight. I was very pissed.

I do this as well, but if I don't plan on flying around in Europe, I take a larger backback that can hold a good amount of clothes and only do laundry once.
