Picked up a crowler of some mango hazy IPA from Dankhouse since I was in Newark for a bit today. I haven't cracked it open but the taster I had was pretty good.

Cracked this open tonight. It's called Twisted Farm, and it's very, very good.

There’s another brewery downtown on the lake called South Haven brewpub we also went to. I liked it better than Three Blondes.

That was a fun trip despite that we went with a 1 and 5 year old. Would have loved to gone back and spent more time in Holland this summer if not for Covid.

Founders is up in that area too but a little more further north. That’s on my bucket list of breweries to visit.

Anyone know of any good beer that is easy to find in Michigan but hard to find in Ohio? My wife is in South Haven with friends for the weekend and asked if I wanted her to pick anything up.

Probably too late, but Jolly Pumpkin makes awesome stuff.  Lots of sours.  They don't distribute much to Ohio.

Founders is Grand Rapids, right? I am pretty sure we went there last year.

I dunno how available M-43 is in Cincinnati but it’s probably my favorite beer from Michigan. I think the brewery is in Williamston. They also have a strawberry M-43 that’s great.

M-43 is a hazy, right? I had a bunch of it at our club last year. I didn't realize it was a MI beer.

Yep Old Notion Brewing. It gets distributed in Ohio but not very wide and is limited to just a couple types. The Strawberry M-43 I think I’ve only seen once in Ohio.

We definitely went to Founders last year. It was a cool space but very crowded and we didn’t have a ton of time to spend there.

Cracked open a Miller Lite tonight as I grilled. Quite refreshing. Had been drinking Truly lemonades over the weekend. It actually made me really appreciate the taste of a Miller Lite lol.

Bourbon Drinkers are you a beat or rocks guy? What’s your regular bourbon?

I’m a slow sipper and like my drinks cold so I prefer one big cube.

I’ve became a big fan of Henry McKenna.

Almost always neat, though I'll add a single cube or some water to a barrel proof bourbon to cut the bite down.

If I see a Russell's Reserve Single Barrel store pick, I buy it. Same with Buffalo Trace single barrel picks.

LOTS of great stuff out there.

Having a Great Lakes Holy Moses White Ale. It’s ok. I would probably not ever drink more than two of these in a night. I’m not so sure about the coriander and chamomile in it.

Picked up a six pack of Fat Head’s G’SUFFA Oktoberfest Lager. I like it. It has no pumpkin flavoring which I tire of in a lot of “Oktoberfest” concoctions.

Nosferatu from Great Lakes Brewing is out now. It is my favorite seasonal release from them.

I’ve had some good Oktoberfest lagers recently. I love this beer season.

Anyone have any insight into how beer distribution works? I’ll never understand why the pumpkin/Octoberfest beers ship as early as July but become difficult to find in October. And I’m starting to see fucking Christmas beers already. Why do they do it this way for?
