Anyone have any insight into how beer distribution works? I’ll never understand why the pumpkin/Octoberfest beers ship as early as July but become difficult to find in October. And I’m starting to see fucking Christmas beers already. Why do they do it this way for?

I have no idea buts it’s stupid. If there’s an exact beer your looking for try Untappd to locate it

I’ve never had much luck with that. I’m looking for pumking which is probably my one and only seasonal beer I really like. I got burned last year thinking I was going to hold off buying much til October then it was nowhere to be found. I checked a couple Krogers today and didn’t see any after seeing it all through September. It’s like October hits and they’re “oh shit it’s October better stop distributing our pumpkin beers!”

I haven’t. If your interested though I can add you to a couple Facebook groups where people trade/sell the more popular breweries like OtherHalf, Treehouse, and Monkish. There are usually NE IPAs, Sours, and Stouts available. It gets expensive as standard cost is cost + $2.50 a can + shipping but it evens out about the same as drinking good beer at a bar.

A couple weeks ago, I forgot to post that I picked up a six pack of Rhinegeist Knowledge.  Hadn’t had any for awhile.  I still like it.  It seems to taste pretty similar to Truth, with even the same color of can.  One big difference: Knowledge weighs in at 9%.

Today I picked up a six pack of Whiffle (Witbier).  Pretty good.  Has a little spice.  Will enjoy a few of them on this election night.

I have a sixer of Spotted Cow remaining from Wisconsin so I'll be pounding those tonight as I watch election coverage.

I’ll probably drink a few IPAs tonight. I got a King JJJuliusss shipped to me last week that will be the highest rated beer I’ve ever tried.

Back in my college days I loved Hudephol and then Christian Morlein. I  ran into a 15 variety pack of Christian Morlein  at our local Wal-Mart. It had 3 each of Purity Pils ,Over The Rhine. Original Lager, Hazy IPA and 3rd wave IPA. It is fantastic!!

I have not heard of Christian Morlein.  I’m going to keep an eye out for that 15 pack variety.

It’s not very common outside Cincinnati but I sometimes see it at Meijer

I picked up some Fat Heads Goggle Fogger to try.  It’s a German style hefe-weizen.  The description is that it has light aromas of bubblegum, banana and clove. The beer name drives from its “foggy” look when poured.  It’s nothing to write home about, IMO.

I see that Great Lakes is now putting out their brews in cans.

Tried a Great Lakes Bierwolf Dunkelweizen last night. Interesting mix of chocolate, orange peel and cold brew coffee and weighs in at 9%.  (Edit: make that 6.6%)

Just got back from four days in Asheville where we did nothing but hit as many breweries as we could.  We did 27 total.

Top 5 from your visit.

I assume you went to Catawba, did they still have PB&J and variants?
