Curious what people around the state (and country) are paying for their internet and how fast their speeds are. In Cincinnati I'm getting 500Mbps (newly upgraded) from Cincinnati Bell for about $55/month (one year price). My co-worker lives in Dayton and he only gets 60Mbps from Spectrum, but I'm not sure what he's paying per month.

i'm bundled through fiOS, so it's like 180/month for TV, internet and phone.

So we have a cable/internet bundle from Spectrum, in which the bill doesn’t specify what we pay for each service. It’s listed on the account as “starting at 100mbps” but I just did the speed test on their site while on WiFi and it only came up as 37mbps download speed. We have a brand new Linksys wireless modem, so I’m not sure why.

We are researching cutting the cord, because we pay ~$150/month. Just have to figure out what service is going to be best for our needs.

250mps from Xfinity (only provider I could get here...which is laughable). $65 a month. I have Sling, so $26.50 for cable. Other companies offer more for much less, but I couldn’t get it delivered. Pretty pissed about it because I have so many devices set up through internet, I can’t afford to go much below 250mps.

Advertised at 100 MPS but more like 60-80 MPS for ~$60 a month via comcast.

I live in the country, so we get 7 mbps.  SEVEN.  It's a wireless connection to base towers from our home dish.  It's a local company.  We never have any issues with watching internet TV or anything like that.  Pr0n never an issue.  We pay about $55/month.

Can't wait for the day that this archaic infrastructure is updated, and we catch up with the urban areas.

Woof. I think 5G should fix this issue, I'm looking forward to seeing how that progresses.

Little update on this.

Spoke with Spectrum yesterday. Our bundle package is a “Time Warner Legacy” bundle and the internet speed was to be 30mbps. So we were getting faster speeds than what we were promised. HOWEVER, I had them break down my bill and found out that for that 30mbps we are paying $45. The same $45 that gets us 100mbps on a Spectrum plan. So 1/3 the speed for the same price. That has since been rectified and our bill will be going down $13. Had to close the current account(in my gf’s name) and open a new one with Spectrum in my name.

I am looking forward to this as well.  I think it is going to completely disrupt the market.

VZW is already talking about offering home broadband packages to compete with cable (probably why they put the brakes on their FIOS roll-out years ago).

But I think people out in the country will be SOL - the range is shorter, so they need to place boxes on basically every telephone poll and building.  I suppose it depends on the coverage/efficiency costs, but people out in the boonies shouldn't expect 5G any time soon.

Spectrum 100 mbps live in the country and truly not sure how we ended up with spectrum. With cable bundle I pay 145 for cable and internet. I have hbo and showtime as well. Found its better to go into your service cable building and talk to them to get your new deal. They can beat the deals you get on the phone by a few extra bucks. I know for the same package I have now I was paying 180 before a friend told me to go to the store itself and talk to them.
