I'll wait for the FDA approval before thinking it will change the game.

I believe there have already been 3 studies in China and Korea showing the efficacy.  UK banned export of the drug a week or so ago.  There is a strong negative correlation between malaria countries and coronavirus cases.  It has been found to be effective, in the past, to treat MERS and SARS (which are also coronaviruses).

Just nice to hear something positive. There’s drugs out there (possibly) helping and so far we’re keeping things under control. The case count will keep climbing and that’s okay. I personally haven’t heard of anyone being too sick to be helped. Seems like the recurring theme is “yeah maybe you have it but get the hell out before someone sicker than you comes along.” There was a death in Toledo today possibly being linked to it but the guy was in his 90s.

I take as a good sign that they are evaluating things in Ohio. OHSAA met and haven’t canceled the spring season and will have a decision in 48 hours on the ending of winter sports.

Have to think the winter sport will get banged soon.

Spring will depend on Supreme Leader DeWine and if they cancel school the rest of the year.     Baseball is still salvageable.    The first couple of weeks were always hit or miss with the weather and the tourny was always so spread out.   They can condense the tourny much more which will put a huge emphasis on deep pitching staffs.

Maybe now the NFL will actually take it serious. Doubt it though.

I would just keep everything open-ended.  Don't cancel ANYTHING.  If you play into the summer, you play into the summer.

And now 2 Lakers players have tested positive. Along with 3 members of the Sixers organization.

That player is Marcus Smart.

I haven't scrolled through every page on this thread but is it true that this started in China from the consumption of a bat?

Donovan Mitchel said in Instagram despite testing positive he’s had no symptoms. It’s a bizarre virus.

I am not surprised of any pro athlete getting it

At this point, I'm not surprised at ANYONE getting it, unless you've been in your house for the past 2 weeks.

The NBA is getting hit "hard" because they were over in China playing games basically when the outbreak started.

Wat. They were in China before the season started in October. The outbreak didn’t start until late December.

Not looking to freak anyone out but one of my coworkers just sent us all a text. His friend's dad works for one of the largest healthcare systems in Ohio and they all met with Dewine yesterday. Sounds like a strong likelihood of a lock down that could come as soon as 2pm today so, if you're not stocked up, now might be the time to do it.

A lockdown would allow trips to the grocery, right?

Yes, "essential businesses" would stay open.

Shelter in place is the term. LA just went on it. NYC most likely will be next, with a 48 hour heads up.
