Not only that, but you can expect random bills to be coming for months after. My son was born nearly three months ago. We got a bill from Cincinnati Children's for $350 earlier this week.

Haha so true. You think you paid everything and then oh, $2k, sure. Pro tip, call and pay and they’ll call give you a discount. But having a baby def ain’t cheap.

We had our Cbus Christmas this past weekend since the kids are going to their respective in-laws this year...our grandkids were the recipients of the majority of gifts (wouldn't have it any other way), but my kids surprised me with a snow blower--and we surprised them by announcing we were taking the entire family to Myrtle Beach this fall...yup, the surprise factor was in full effect...love the giving part of this Holiday!

The kids SURPRISED you with a snow blower.  You SURPRISED them with a trip to Myrtle.  In my opinion, this is Christmas.  I fucking hate making lists of "buy me this shit!!!"  Reps, vball.

I’m learning that pushing a baby out is not going to be free for my wife, though usually (hopefully) a man is helping pay for that. And insurance. Thank God for amazing insurance policy.

You really want to see some bills? Have them cut it out rather than push it out...all 3 of mine were C-Section. Glad we had great insurance to take care of the $$ and my wife/boys.

As of now, should be able to avoid c-section. But wife’s insurance would take care of it. Thank God for tech giants policies (LinkedIn, in this case).

How many of you don't exchange gifts with your partners? I couldn't tell you the last time my wife or I gave each other a gift.

I'm still kinda surprised at this.  Believe, I'd never let Christmas go by without getting my wife something.  I'm not the smartest husband in the world, but I have learned that much.  Mrs. Z loves the Pandora jewelry line, and she loves unique watches, so I'm getting her both to add to her collection.  And she expects me to use my noggin and select something appropriate.

In her mind, it's not how so much what I bought - and definitely NOT how much money I spent on her - it's about how much thought I put into it that counts.

Truth be told, nowadays I wouldn't mind terribly if I didn't get anything on Dec 25 - although the wife knows I do enjoy getting a small toy or handheld game to play with.  A few years ago she got me a yo-yo, and I had a blast showing off for my sons while they rolled their eyes.  It's important to still feel like a kid at Christmas, even if only for a few moments.

This year I asked for a new bass drum pedal, and she'll probably get me something like a small drone to go with it.

My husband and I still exchange presents. I don't think I'd be upset if he didn't get me anything, but I love giving gifts. It's one of my favorite things in the world.
