Trump's Cabinet

The cabinet isn't terrible so far.

Again, AG is huge for me as that will give a window on how much Trump wants to control DOJ.

Noem at DHS is interesting, and I feel like she may lean on the White House.

I'm not sure Trump can pick off any more House Republicans as that will impact their majority.

One random thing I am really interested in seeing how it impacts Trump and his administration is fallout from the overturn of Chevron decision with the Supreme Court..

They may really slow and kick back to Congress how these agencies will move forward.

I wonder how many will end up being felons like Donny?

Looks like Rubio for Sec of State / Lee Zeldin at EPA / and Noem for DHS.

Trump can fuck off with this. Dammit to hell

However many racists, misogynists, homophobes, transphobes, Nazi's and fascists, with the bonus of all being felons, as they can find will fill leftover positions.

Last time around he listened to too many insiders and establishment types --- basically had to since he was a complete outsider.  Now that that is out of the way; he can go with the right people, hopefully, right out of the gate now.

The moment that Trump tapped Rubio was the moment that you all should have known that he didn't learn a fucking thing. The gears are now turning for infighting, not following orders, tabloid leaks, war, public spats, and the hunt for a new replacement.

Rubio IS establishment.

Exactly; he was great the last time around too.

Paulson took himself out of Treasury consideration.

Now how is this draining the swamp?  Rubio is a career politician who is as swamp as swamp can get.

I'm in favor of some of the names Trump's put forward for positions.  But this one in particular is a reminder to me that Trump is nothing more than yet another politician.

Rubio IS establishment.

Yeah, but he's in the Lindsey Graham class of establishment where he'll say and do establishment things whenever he can, but the minute Trump gives him the stink eye, he'll immediately do what he's told because, first and foremost, he's a coward whose greatest fear is pissing off the wrong crowd and losing his position as a result.

So, in short, he's there to be a yes man for Trump who probably knows just what will happen if he tries to go in any other direction.

Considering Rubio was one of the finalist for VP, State makes sense. Rubio has wanted out of the Senate for years.

The picks today aren't surprising and again, aren't terrible.

If Rubio wanted out of the Senate he would have applied to FOX news, not campaigned again, wrote a book, simply retired or started a business.

Ok, we got our first head scratcher.

Fox News host Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense.

I haven't watched the guy, and looked up his resume, and I am not sold on his qualifications to handle the single largest department in the federal government.

I had to read it again as I thought it was for VA, not DOD.

Will all come down to how much authority they have. Unless it comes with real teeth from Congress, and Congress passes their recommendations, won't really change things.

Congress controls the purse strings and now especially post Chevron, the regulations power.

DOGE may well end up in the dustbin of history with all previous government efficiency commissions.

How much hesitancy do you think a Republican Congress will apply to cutting wasteful spending?

He was a Major with 2 bronze stars and has degrees from Princeton and Harvard. Not a bad resume.
