Not sure I need a mentally ill person to explain mental illness to me.

And some of this stuff is just wild.  If your psychotic depressed teen shoots up their school, liberals want to hold the parents liable.  But when it comes to a teen struggling with gender dysphoria, the parents shouldn't know?  The assumption is "oh, the parents are bigots so we need to support transition in secret"...but how do you know the other side of the story if you don't talk to the parents?  Teenagers bitching about how their parents hate them and are cruel...fairly common and normal behavior.  And since clinical depression often goes along with it, you aren't dealing with someone capably of rationally perceiving what their parents say and do.

She was born with famale parts from what I heard. She has talked about her experience and also boxed 4 years ago in the Olympics and lost. She was born a woman and lived her life as a woman. Obviously she has the extra male chromosome but as far as her body it is female from what I understand. Her birth certificate says female it’s literally posted on twitter, so yea it’s pretty well known but I know u just like to find something to argue about so I guess we can disagree about if it’s well known or not. U can pick another description for its level of how well known it is if u like.

The real point of contention, or sticking point, was that the boxer tested with XY chromosone. Even for people with no vested interest in this argument this raises the question of why there isn't any contingency plan in place for this sort of thing.

I personally think that the Olympics needs to get their shit figured out. It makes too much money for itself to have real doubts cast upon its sincerity to support true sport without the social subculture activism pulling strings behind the curtain.

As I said before, it's comparable to how a bunch of Chinese athletes (you know, from a country that's had all sorts of doping allegations and positive tests in the past) tested positive recently and that all kind of got swept under the rug by the IOC to the degree they were threatening America to cease and desist with complaints or risk losing the Salt Lake Winter Olympics.

Comes off more as a rich and corrupt committee being corrupt than anything else, even if some want to use the one-size-fits-all "progressive shit" boogeyman for everything they don't like.

Sorry, but given testosterone is a huge differentiator in combat sports, when someone has a Y, even if they are XXY abnormality, and higher testosterone, you can't fight biological women who have only XX.

Its unfair no matter what, if I have a Y chromosome, to fight someone who has none.

From what I’m reading now I don’t even know if any of that is true and it seems that was also possibly a rumor and she’s never actually tested positive for any of that. The test in contention sounds like it was from a Russian source so idk. I’m going to wait and see more info because it’s really looking like she is actually just a woman with a mediocre boxing record and the girl who quit was mad because she was already out of contention for losing her previous match and has quit before 

The only reason I posted about it in the first place is it was being painted as a pshycological issue or masquerading as a woman and that wasn’t the case is my point.

It doesn't really matter at this point when the Olympics doesn't have its shit together and are unprepared to handle any controversy in advance. They are the only ones that should be held accountable, not anybody here.

The person in question is a biological woman. She has a genetic condition that causes her body to produce testosterone instead of estrogen. She is not trans. Whether that condition gives her an unfair advantage or more important, one that endangers her opponents can be argued.

It's very simple, having an XX sex chromosome means you're female. It IS necessarily true.

It was reported the person has XY. Of course no one has actually verified it either way, so not sure why you’re acting like it’s a fact.
