I hope these folks get the mental health assistance they need.

It will be a long time, I suspect. Body dysmorphia is being pushed as not only perfectly acceptable, but to also be celebrated.

It's only a matter of time before purposely blinding yourself because of dysmorphia becomes a reality series. Or anorexics will be on the covers of Teen Vogue.

There are no hard lines for the people who are easily led, via the fear of somehow offending somebody else.

Are these trans athletes….did they transition mostly for sports? Completely for sports? Just not comfortable with who they were and transitioned, but just happen to play sports?

I can’t wrap my head around any of them honestly.

All the ones I see are troubled preteens (typically not a solid family environment at all) go off to the high school/junior high with more freedoms and it all gets going.

I can’t imagine not being great enough at men’s basketball so you transition and bump up several more levels. Not for me to understand I guess.

It's a psychological condition some people have that makes them feel as if they were born wrong. They believe they should have been born as the opposite sex, should have been born disabled, they are fat, etc. It is a condition that is often compounded by other existing conditions.

Currently many in society believe that the easiest way to deal with it is to just go along with it. And to keep that going, the activists have pushed several states to make laws that uses the force of govt to force people to say words that they don't believe. What's more, there are now states that use the force of govt to keep secrets of children away from their parents - going as far as taking a child out of the home if the parents don't agree with what the child says and want their children to wait until they are older before taking any medical actions on their bodies.

As for the sports aspect of things, it will ultimately have to be settled at some point after somebody becomes disabled or killed. It's unfortunate, but that's the only thing left to do at this point - wait until it happens.

We currently have a Supreme Court Justice who pretended she couldn't define what a woman is. That's how deep the tentacles of this ideology has embedded itself into the system.

I think I have asked this before, but have you actually met someone who is transgender and had a conversation with them?

That may better inform some of your broad statements.

I've found I just respect whatever the other person would like to be called as a sign of respect and not being a jerk.  Just today, did that at an event downtown for Pelatonia when I met someone.

Great questions...has someone asked them? Do we know their story?

Yes, you have asked me those questions and I answered in the affirmative.

Why do you call what I said "broad statements" when they are easily verified facts?

Besides talking to trans people, I have to continuously go to workshops, sit through webinars, study and test. My job requires that I know facts. Yes, knowing facts not only about trans, but the lbgq++ communities and all manner of people that come to an ER seeking help and it is my job to know how I can best help them by either referrals or placement - what best suits their particular needs.

My personal feelings ramp when it comes to kids. The very idea of government enforcement of frankensteining kids and/or removing them from their homes is, to me, not only morally wrong but socially horrific.

Fair enough. Keep having those conversations and keep up the research then. It may change some of your tone or views...

I’m just more interested on the sports side I guess. Wondering if a greater % of men that transgender to women participate in sports than the % of men who play sports. Is there a modest to small % of men changing to women mainly for sports?

The one I knew the best was about 20 years ago…tremendous baseball player and a great kid. Traditional, mom, dad, sister. Went off to school and changed name and his sex. Was shocking to everyone. For what I knew everyone still thought highly of this kid, but no one really understood. About 7-8 years ago I heard he transitioned back.

Right now, there aren’t enough counselors to fit the need.

I think you misunderstand me. Intentionally or not doesn't matter much. Let me be very clear. And just talking about adults.

Medical facts aside, I personally don't care if somebody is trans. I will call them by whatever name they introduce themselves as most of the time. The exception mught be something like  their personality and immediately being demanding.

What I am against:

- frankensteining kids

- government forcing people to say words they don't believe

- removing kids from their homes because the parents disagree with frankensteining their kids and wanting their children to grow up before having irreversible medical procedures done

- schools keeping medical and psychological secrets of children from parents, enforced by government

- biological men infiltrating women's sports, especially combat sports

My "tone" lol

I’ll respond a little bit while I’m a tad r-chop fatigued. The drinking won’t Commence until I can hold down the liquids a bit better.

I consider myself a very liberal person when it comes to sexuality. I don’t have a problem about anything that is between consenting ADULTS. My default notion of adults is also very liberal. If you are mature enough to make a decision that will affect the rest of your life, I feel that it should be your decision. The laws are across the landscape on this. You can murder someone at 14 and never be a free person again. You are not mature enough for alcohol, but can join the military and kill somebody. I have a niece that had consensual sex at 15 and her 18 year old boyfriend is doing 5-7 for statutory rape. Now bringing this around to the topic, I do not believe that a minor (less than 18) can make an informed decision about their “gender identity.

Many females are superior to males physically by age until the balls drop and the testosterone rolls. That being said, males have no business competing in female physical contests period. I’m not even sure if a person is XXY that they should be able to compete in athletics beyond high school.

The good news now is since I l have typed an Otrapian  length post (not bad for an IPhone) I am ready to risk a beer or 10

You don’t need to talk to a trans person to know men should be kept out of women sports, and that it should be kept out of schools.

Riley Gaines got fuuuuucked by Penn. They never had an answer for why they did what they did, other than Trans!

I'm glad that the woman forfeited, though.

To be fair, this person isn’t trans (from what I’ve read). So it isn’t a man pretending to be a woman, but rather some messed up genetics. Still probably shouldn’t be allowed to fight women with the physical characteristics of a man. Of course the right is hammering it on Twitter though.

I’m asking this question not to be smart I genuinely don’t know the answer but isn’t this the case with all the high profile sports cases that have came up

Most of the ones I have seen, weightlifting, college swimming, high school sports, have been males masquerading as females.  Haven’t seen many with actual genetic issues.

Masquerading?

You know this for sure?

I'm all for debate and policy discussions, but I'm very against assuming and assumptions for why someone transitioned.

Lol you get so uptight about word usage. Are they not pretending to be something they are not? Sure mentally they might think they are a woman, but that doesn’t make it so. I wasn’t assuming why they transitioned, but that they were born male.
