Vance is younger than I am. I don't know why I thought he was like 43.

There's no other way to put it, Republicans are literally nazis. Look.

Strange choice with Vance, you would think with the Roe v wade stuff he would have picked a woman. I wonder if others turned him down. It probably helps in Ohio which was probably as close as ever in turning blue. Vance has the charisma of a potato .

Trump was up by over 10 pts in Ohio before Vance pick. No way it was turning blue

I wasnt insinuating it was going to turn blue i was trying to say that if he won for instance by 500,000 votes last time..he would win by less this time than last year or previous years.  I do think that the Female voters who previously voted red will not vote red because of the Roe V. Wade and reproductive rights issues.  I dont think Ohio will continue to be a slam dunk forever if things continue the way they are.  If Pennsylvania can turn blue I don't think its out of reach for ohio to do it at some point.  Obviously not this year, but I do think that has to have had something to do with the Vance choice because other than that I see nothing he adds to this election.  I dont think he moves the needle at all.

I don't know, geeblock. I think single issue voting probably depends on the region and class. The younger women I know definitely bitched about RvW but have higher priorities on their plate. A few of them still don't know who they are going to vote for. So imo they probably won't vote or will vote for Trump quietly.

Anecdotally, Roe did not turn my wife blue.

Putting aside for a moment all the social media influencers and focussing on politicians - the people who have political power - hands down, the Dems own the violent rhetoric. From people In Congress telling their constituents to hunt down, confront and fight any opposition, to Hillary Clinton calling half the country deplorable, to Joe Biden calling Trump voters "MAGAts" , to almost every Dem in Congress and Senate calling Trump a fascist and/or Hitler, to vice president Harris parroting all of the above, to the same people saying that Trump was a threat to democracy. This has been going on for 8 years. All of it is verifiable.

You are a fraud.

If insults directed at the other side equal "violent rhetoric", Trump by himself balances out about 55% of all the above.

speaks volumes if you have to vote for a candidate quietly.  I cant think of another candidate ever that you would have to say that about.  In four years no matter who they trot out there, I doubt you will have to say that you voted for them quietly.  ( I get it the radical left will be mean to  you blah blah). It just seems weird. I cant think of more important issues than being in control of your own medical decisions but thats just me.  Personally I have friends who are voting for trump and I couldnt care less. Everyone should vote in their best interests.

Bc you keep repeating it, I assume you know when he referred to Hitler it was in a private Facebook message and he wasn’t calling him a literal dictator and anyone who voted for him fascists (I had to look it up).

Besides thinking he was a hypocrite for his earlier views, his pick seems to make the right people mad on the left. Nice to see someone under 50. His book was decent.

There's a whole bevy of stuff he's said about Trump that is not of the "I disagree with his politics" variety and more of the "I hate him" variety.  Forgive me for being cynical of a politician dramatically changing his stripes when it so happens to considerably help his desire to get elected.

I wasn't expecting Trump to pick anyone inspiring.  But Vance is about as swamp as it gets - willing to whore himself out to whoever is the influencer.

I read Hillbilly Elegy.  I thought it was pretty good.  I remember him catching flack back then from the MAGA crowd for writing about white trash from an elitist perspective.  Now I'm preparing to hear the MAGA crowd praise the book as an eye-opening insight into the disaffected foundation of our country.+

It's a really weird time because almost all of the media has been humping the idea that if you support even one of Trump's policies you are a litany of things, such as racist and sexist. Half the country. So media effectively got people being suspicious of their friends, family and people they don't know. Worse yet are the politicians who are the root of the method. I just had an old friend block me on Facebook because I essentially don't blame Trump for the RvW decision. That's just so crazy to me. But media got her out of her mind, scared to death of a think tank (project 25).

It's insane just how much power the Dem stenographers (media) have over people. It never used to be that way.
