Nothing new. But most diehards know it doesn't matter who OC is - that crapfest is the offense Tomlin wants to run.
Multiple OCs and multiple QBs....same offense they've been running for years. Tomlin is the only commonality.

Oh, yeah. People have been calling it the "U-shaped offense" for years. Pretty much since Arians left (I mean, "retired").
Been amongst the bottom in PA% for years (can't blame the old immobile QB any more).
I gave up on Tomlin about 6-7 years ago when I realized the guy was way overrated thanks to a HOF QB and GM.

I’ve watched the games too….offense has been irritating forever. I still doubt it’s that crazy from the norm. I mean year 5 wide and Ben was going to be obvious pass and run plays have always been obvious, but I thought the same during much of the Cowher days too.
It’s just frustrating. Pickett doesn’t seem to have a chance. I don’t know if his peak is above average but doesn’t seem measurable as things are.

About 4 years ago (so Fitchner was OC), it seemed like Tomlin got the genius idea to run Belicheck's small ball offense. And then the U-shaped offense became lower-cas "u" with a ton of quick throws short of the sticks.
Tomlin always mandated TOP, but four years ago the focus became "stay on schedule" and get to manageable 3rd downs. But then they don't want to take a sack, so they get the ball out quick short of the sticks hoping and praying the receiver gains the line with RAC.
Tomlin is a decent DC, at least in the regular season, masquerading as a HC. But he has all the soundbites!
