Good guy; I especially  appreciated his later work with the WWII Honor Flight program.

I escorted an Honor Flight a few years back (when I was still active), he and his wife made it a point to show up to every single one and meet them at the WWII memorial. Even in his failing health, it was very important to him.

John Madden, 85.

Just watched that All Madden documentary. TBH, I thought he had already died. Watching him on that show, he was pretty choked up by all of the accolades people gave him. At the end it was almost like, after hearing that, his life was complete. A few days later and he's gone.
