I’ve had this thread idea for a while and seems like a good time to start it.

I’ll choose the sport and position and you just list your all-time favorite top 5 (doesn’t mean they were great or even very good, just your favorites)…..don’t have to put in order. Do a top 3 if you think 5 is too many

I’ll start with Baseball and starting pitchers

1. Greg Maddux

2. Nolan Ryan

3. Rob Dibble

4. Mike Leake

5. Mike Mussina

This took me a while after my top 2

1)  Tom Browning

2) Jose Rijo

3) Randy Johnson

4)  Maddux

5) Pedro

HM: Cueto and Skenes

Skenes and Shohei are the two guys now in baseball that make me want to go watch outside of a reds or guardians game

  1.  Pedro
  2.  Maddux
  3.  Kershaw
  4.  Randy
  5.  Gibson

Honestly, not sure anyone will ever convince me someone was better than Pedro. I'll hear arguments for longevity/better overall careers, but no one touches his 3 year run of dominance in the middle of the steroid era.

My first 4 are easy for me. The 5th spot I debating a long time. Lefty, Feller, Walter Johnson, Verlander, Seaver, & Koufax all got consideration.

Feel free to list them as you did but was hoping for your 5 favorites….like the 5 guys you just always rooted for not necessarily the 5 that feel were the greatest

1. Lincecum - I could spend two hours watching him warm up

2. Maddox - Admire his control and his mental approach

3. Sabathia - Loved watching that chubby guy’s wind up and power.

4. Randy Johnson - loved watching scare the beejesus out of pro hitters

5. Nolan Ryan - For the Robin Ventura incident alone.

Ok thanks everyone….lets move on to favorite QB…if I hit a position or sport that you don’t care for or follow feel free to skip it and come back for the next one

QB’s

1. Michael Vick….during his freshman year I was getting tired of the talk and stuff but late in the year and then against FSU in the championship game. He won me over. I’ve never seen a QB like that. He was far from perfect and never an elite QB but I loved watching him play every down.

2. John Elway….as a young fan in the 80’s and everyone around was so in love with the Browns…I loved Elway. Hated he got smoked in Super Bowls but won 2 with defining moments late in his career. Loved him

3. Ben Roethlisberger….well he helped guidel my team to 2 SB championships and just rarely ever lost to Bengals and Browns. My list isn’t a who’s who of top notch people but he has to be in my top 5

4. Steve Young….just gutsy and loved watching him play.

5. Drew Brees….he just wasn’t tall enough to ever be great. Dude was great forever

1. Bernie - He was my favorite from my childhood/teen years. That has a way of standing above all others.

2. Montana - He was Brady before Brady.

3. Kordell Stewart - Because fuck Michigan

4. Boomer - I met him at the Bengals training camp when I was a sophomore in HS. He was very nice to the kids on my team that were visiting. Always stuck with me.

5. Art Schlichter- My idol from ages 9-11. It crushed me how he turned out. He could have been a great NFL player too.
