First preseason game right around the corner.

Browns supposedly finalists in a trade for 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk, along with the Patriots. Sounds like Cleveland would be sending Amari Cooper as part of the deal.

Also, Nick Chubb is not Batman, he might be Superman. Word is that he will be removed from the PUP shortly which means he'll be eligible to play in week 1 vs Dallas.

Rooting for him to be healthy

Denzel Ward in concussion protocol, AGAIN and it sounds like Watson had a very strong outing against the Vikings yesterday....almost 600 yards passing and 5 TD's. Yes, I know, scrimmage but at least it wasn't bad.

I’m shocked when I read it’s only his 5th. Dude seems to have 2 a season.

Dude's on thin ice as far as his longevity in the league.

First teamers haven't really played yet but have a hunch this offense is going to be a sh#t show. O-Line depth is horrific.

For as much as I'm curious to see what Watson looks like coming off that injury, it might be a good idea for Stefanski to pull back at sit him for this game versus Seattle. LT is a huge mess right now.

Damn, Chubb remains on the PUP list and will miss the first 4 games

The elephant in the room, over the last couple of years, has been Jed Wills and his desire, or lack there of, to play football. Andrew Berry should be accused of gross negligence in not finding a replacement for Wills sooner. The offensive line was a true shit show today. Big Thanos didn't do himself any favors either with his performance.

With that being said, Watson did himself no favors. Yes, he was harassed in the backfield all day but he missed a lot of wide open receivers (see 4th down when he threw the ball out of bounds to Jerome Ford.....TE was wide open with nobody within 20 yards of him in the middle of the field).

Nick Chubb covers up a lot of blemishes but the dude isn't a miracle worker.

First game but these guys are a LONG way from being a serious contender.

I’ve sat through so many of these kind of Sundays that they run together.

To add insult to injury, new lawsuit filed against Watson.

Is it made up by a Browns fan to get rid of him?

So this one may be the one that gets them out of the Watson contract?

Either way -- this is the worst one yet, and the Browns have to just eat it and cut him if this is true. No chance you can regain any shred of fan acceptance if you keep him.

Was just about to post this. If this latest accuser comes to fruition they can void the contract, release him and be off the hook. Not sure about future ramifications towards the salary cap.

Even if they cannot get out of the contract, if it is true, I think they have to eat it and cut him anyway. This is by far the worst (at least that I have read) of any of the accusations.

I'm wondering if a lot of his shitty performance has been due to internal guilt. I wasn't a fan of him coming out of college (weak velocity on his throws) but I've never seen a QB's performance drop off a cliff like this at such a young age and good career start.

Watson loves to bust out the "naked man!" Bold move.

Cut bait ASAP (if that's even possible.)

It's so tough to say because of all the potential factors.

He was suspended for an eternity (especially in athlete years). ie: Decline in handling game-time speed via rustiness.

After being un-suspended, he's had injuries. ie: Potential decline in ability due to the body not working like it did.

He got paid huge in guaranteed money. ie: DGAF, I got mine.

He went from a basic high-level pro athlete (as in before the charges, the only thing I could tell you about Watson was that he was a fun QB to watch in Houston) to a guy who was pretty much hated by the general public. ie: Along with what you said, that could be the sort of thing that weighs on a person's mind.

And probably other stuff I'm just not thinking of right now. I do know that from watching some of their game Sunday, he looked like he did when he played last year. Decision-making wasn't great, didn't go downfield to stretch the field, wasn't even that accurate on shorter stuff and got hurt a bit by drops (at least I saw Njoku drop one). Also probably doesn't help that without Chubb, they can't count on a consistent run game to take the pressure off, but old man Flacco had the same situation there and put up way better numbers.

To your last point, there was a common theme with Flacco & Mayfield, they both thrived in a play action system. Flacco, for the time off, was plug & play. Watson isn't "comfortable" under center and with his back to the defense so they run this spread shit. If Watson would utilize play action, from under center, he could be lethal but he just won't do it.
