Would you switch alliances?

So Saquon Barkley's father is a lifelong Jets fan and the Jets play Saquon's Giants this weekend. His father has said that he will be wearing his Jets jersey.

On the flip side, Justin Layne who, along with his family, were life long Browns fans and Layne got drafted by the rival Steelers. Layne's father destroyed all of his Browns stuff and went all in on the Steelers.

My question is, if you were fortunate enough to have a kid play for an NFL team, would you switch alliances and make that your team?

Yes.

I’d probably still root for Browns if it didn’t effect my son though.

Yes, I'd root for whoever my kid played for.

Yeah I'm rooting for whatever team my kid is playing for 1st.

No question. Same applies to other levels as well. I've known people who have rooted for their high school Alma Mater over their son's team. Disgusting, IMO.

I’d go with this, too.

I'd never switch alliances or bail on my current teams, but of course I'd root my ass off for whomever my son played for.

My kid's team first at all levels of competition.

It’d be tough to root for the Steelers but I would if that’s who my son played for. I’d probably feel bad for him if he were drafted by the Bengals.

Not unreasonable that one of kids might be able to play for the Bengals tho

I'd have to think I would. No amount of "I's a loyal fan!" points really would make up for my hypothetical multi-millionaire kid becoming estranged from me and winding up dumping me into one of those cheap, crooked nursing homes because he become one of those diva players who took the "If you aren't with me 100%, you don't matter!" mindset.
