The relaunch of the XFL!

I was on ESPN's site today and one of the main stories is about Landry Jones being the face of the XFL. And just like that, any potential desire to even watch for one minute faded to nothingness.

So, if anyone does watch this and had opinions. feel free to voice them!

Saw an advertisement a few weeks ago where they promoted some of their QBs like Connor Cook and Cardale Jones. It’s a bold strategy considering no one was turning on the TV to watch them in NFL, so why would they now?

i didn’t know when it was starting up but I’m surprised it’s the weekend right after the Super Bowl.

People just don’t want to watch players who failed at the highest level. The best shot of a league like this working is the G-League after the HS are allowed back in the draft. Bring foreign players around quicker vs stashing in Europe and have a system similar to MLB. Service time doesn’t start until 30 games in a season or something.

But if fans can watch young players who MAY someday help their squad at the highest level, you have a chance. To ask fans to tune in to watch players who couldn’t make it at the highest level is a strategy doomed to fail.

I’m watching. What else is there to watch in February? It actually hasn’t been that bad. It’ll be interesting to see how long it can survive.

I have to go run a few errands soon, otherwise I'd keep watching. It's been entertaining enough. I don't like the immediate interviews after big plays, though.

Dude nailed a 55 yard field goal to end the first half.

I might follow Landry Jones just to laugh at the fact he's better than either back-up PIT rolled into 2019 with....

I'm a big fan of the kickoff rules. I hope that experiment makes it into the NFL soon.

I have liked it so far.  The KO rule is genius. It will force more returns and I think less injuries and penalities.

Play has not been bad.   The issue they will have and there is no way around it.....and that I our emotional attachment to the teams.  Some players from your college but that won't sustain fandom    so much of sports is how much emotional attachments we have to the team, college, players over decades and that just won't happen here.  I think it will serve a good purpose and rigjt after NFL season is good lead in    plus having fox and ESPN on board helps and I hope this works and becomes associated with the NFL as a minor league

Watched most of the LA-HOUSTON game. Liked pretty much all of it, kick off and punt rules, the ready for play official with the extra ball, TV viewers "in on the play call", sideline interviews........and for a Game #1 the quality of play was decent. I've seen a lot worse professional football.

I'm thinkinh Seattle could get 20k for a pee wee game.  Their crowd was crazy.   Best case scenario is a number of guys get an invite in the NFL and isn't there one player who played this college season and left school/ grades and is playing an expected to get drafted?

Landry Jones is terrible!

First XFL game I've watched (DAL-LA), and I would not say the football has been good.

The ending of DAL and LA wasn't bad. Lots of scoring late. But it was rough for the first 3 quarters. The offenses were moving the ball a little bit, but just couldn't score.

Need more first half scoring which this late game has a little.   A lot of rusty offense, and coaches not quite knowing yet what they're players can and cannot do well.   Entertaining enough for me to keep watching.
