This is a great video, well worth the 5 minutes to watch. The commentary is great.
Back in the early 90’s Gary Sheffield was on the Padres in big Jack Murphy Stadium.....pitcher threw at his head, knocked him down. Sheffield gets back up and hits one into the upper deck of the stadium....I think only the 3rd player to do it.

Yep. Any other game, doubt he attempts it. I think if he had gone head first he is safe too. The sideways slide trying to trick the pitcher is what killed him, so much slower overall.
I love going back and watching that game. The whole thing (like 5 hours) is on YouTube, and I've gone through the whole thing a few times.
Might be my favorite game. At least of all the ones I remember.
Another possibility is this game which, amazingly enough, was 11 years ago today.

Still remember this like yesterday. It was one of those care free summers and I just had the tv on the background. Wasn't even paying attention, because they were getting hammered. All of a sudden I noticed there were making a little noise and was tuned to the TV the entire time.

At that time I was a co-op engineer (paid intern) for BFGoodrich in their Aerospace division. They had 81 game season tickets, 4 tickets 3 rows behind 3B dugout.
They used these tickets to entertain customers or vendors. However, if they weren’t being used for business purposes they would send an email that morning asking if anyone wanted them. They took all the emails and you “won” if you hadn’t won tickets in awhile or if you were one of only 2 to take them.
I, being such a huge baseball fan, put my name in every single time they asked. I didn’t care what I had going on that night I would change plans to go to the Indians with those seats for free.
You only got 2 tickets as they always allowed 2 “winners”. So usually my wife or my dad would go with me.
However, on August 1, 2001 I was the only person in the company to put my name in (never happened) so they gave me all 4 tickets. My two cousins and their dad has never been to the new stadium at that point so I took them.
By the 5th inning the stands had cleared out and our 3rd row seats turned into 1st row behind 3B/Indians dugout. My one cousin wanted to leave but the other cousin and my uncle agreed with me that we would stay and just enjoy the night.
And what a night it was.
Getting to watch that game from 1st row behind the Indians dugout was up there with getting to go to a WS game and the HoF with my dad.
I got to go to about 40 games for free over the 2 summers I worked there (2000 and 2001) since I put my name in every single time. But that’s the only one I remember vividly.

I took a snap shot of the end of the game. The far right of the first row in the black tank top is 1 of my cousins. To his right in the Indians Jersey is his dad. My other cousin and myself are just off screen to their left.

Similar situation with me in the seats. DiBiaso has family seats like 17th row behind home plate, and as long as we didn’t pick Boston/Orioles during the 90s my dad could get them. Well, Otis Nixon was randomly my favorite non-Indian. I think I just loved stolen bases lol.
Anyway, long delay, thought it might get called, but my friend didn’t get to go to games with us much, so we convinced my dad to stay. Down to 2nd row for the Albert Belle grand slam walkoff. Not like the Ms game, but man it was awesome to see a walkoff. Of the 100+ games I’ve been to, I’ve Klay see that one walk off HR.
